Matt and Abby Howard of TikTok Celebrate Daughter’s Due Date Following Pregnancy Loss
Influencers Matt and Abby Howard are honoring their daughter’s due date following the heartbreak of their pregnancy loss.
“In a different version of today, perhaps we’d be holding you for the very first time. But that’s not the case,” the couple shared on Instagram on Sunday, March 1. “Today, we are mourning you: our daughter and baby sister.”
They concluded, “We mourn because we love (so deeply) and will carry your love with us for the rest of our lives. Happy due date, dear Emerson Nicole. 🤍🪽.”
Accompanying their heartfelt message, they posted a photo of Abby with a bouquet of white flowers, while Matt rested his head on hers. Many followers offered words of comfort in the comments section.
“So very sorry for your loss. ❤️🩹💕 Your Emerson Nicole is so cherished. 🪽💗,” wrote Jill Duggar, while Married at First Sight’s Jamie Otis commented, “Biggest hugs to you both 🙏🏻❤️😢.”
In September 2025, Matt and Abby revealed they lost their third baby after confirming Abby’s pregnancy. (They are already parents to sons Griffin, 3, and August, 2.)
“At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor was unable to find a heartbeat. Shortly thereafter, we had an ultrasound where the technician delivered news we will never forget, ‘I’m so sorry, I do not have good news,’” the caption read on Instagram. “At that moment, we received a gender reveal we never anticipated, along with the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks of gestation.”
The statement continued, “The news felt unfathomable. The grief is incredibly devastating. However, we are immensely grateful for the time we had with her. We still hold onto hope. Hope has continued to appear in many forms for us. For now, we will grieve and consider ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. Thank you, everyone, for celebrating this precious life with us over the past 17 weeks.”
Shortly after, Matt expressed gratitude for those who reached out with supportive messages during “this very challenging time.” He noted that Abby was far enough along in her pregnancy for their baby to hear her voice.
“She had a heartbeat. She had tiny hands, little fingers, little toes. We’re still in the process of accepting that,” Matt shared during an October 2025 episode of their “Unplanned Podcast.”
He added, “Thank you for your patience during this time. This was a pre-recorded episode that we chose to share. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.”
During another podcast episode in December 2025, Matt shared how he and Abby’s marriage has “improved as a result.”
“It’s what John Delony says: ‘When difficult situations arise, you’re sort of building a new marriage,’” Abby replied, referencing the radio personality. “It feels like the previous marriage is gone and this is a new one we’re creating together, particularly in light of the immense grief that we’ve faced.”
