This week, Hulu kicks off with a gripping new true crime miniseries that is currently dominating the streamer’s TV rankings.
Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese has quickly climbed into the top three, with the potential to soar even higher by week’s end.
This is just one of Watch With Us’ top recommendations for three must-see Hulu movies and TV shows to binge on this week.
Our other picks include one of the most heart-wrenching films of 2024, and to lighten the mood, we’re suggesting a popular Pixar animated film now available from Disney+.
‘Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese’ (2026)
Hulu’s latest true crime documentary series, Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese, gives away the identity of the killers but keeps the motive a mystery. Skylar Neese was best friends with Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf until she vanished at the age of 16. Initially, no one suspected her closest friends had harmed her, but the evidence pointed directly to Eddy and Shoaf.
After uncovering the killers, the documentary delves into the complexities of the crime, exploring how the trio’s friendship deteriorated to the point of murder. It’s a deeply disturbing and tragic tale, highlighting a friendship that turned deadly.
You can watch Friends Like These: The Murder of Skylar Neese on Hulu.
‘Civil War’ (2025)
Writer and director Alex Garland presents Civil War, depicting a near-future America fragmented into factions vying for control. Leading the cast is Kirsten Dunst as Lee Smith, a war photographer on a nationwide journey alongside journalist Joel (Wagner Moura) and rookie photojournalist Jessica Collin (Cailee Spaeny).
Amid rumors of the President’s possible ousting (Nick Offerman), the trio races to cover the anticipated event. Their journey reveals stark instances of tribalism and societal collapse as individuals violently turn against one another, fracturing the nation’s unity. Dunst’s husband, Jesse Plemons, delivers a haunting performance as a militia member quick to resort to violence against those he deems unworthy. Though dark in tone, this film offers a compelling viewing experience.
Civil War is available for streaming on Hulu.
‘Ratatouille’ (2007)
Prior to its release in 2007, some predicted Ratatouille would be Pixar’s first failure. However, Pixar and director Brad Bird not only disproved this claim but also crafted one of the studio’s most cherished films, winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Patton Oswalt voices Remy, a rat with an exceptional sense of smell and a passion for culinary arts, who dreams of becoming a chef.
Remy’s aspirations come to life when he meets Alfredo Linguini (Lou Romano), a new employee at the restaurant formerly run by Remy’s idol, Chef Auguste Gusteau (Brad Garrett). As they learn to communicate, Remy helps direct their culinary creations. Yet, Linguini’s boss, Skinner (Ian Holm), grows suspicious of his sudden prowess and is concealing a secret that could alter the future for everyone in the kitchen.
You can catch Ratatouille streaming on Hulu.
