Meghan Markle Shares Heartwarming Moment with Daughter Lilibet, 4, in Rare Photo
Meghan Markle is honoring her daughter, Princess Lilibet, on International Women’s Day alongside Prince Harry.
“For the woman she will one day become … Happy International Women’s Day,” Meghan, 44, shared on Instagram on Sunday, March 8. She mentioned that the photo was captured by Harry, 41. “📸: Papa Sussex.”
The image shows Meghan kissing Lilibet, 4, as they sit on a rock with an ocean view during a beach outing.
Meghan and Harry were married in 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, England, and they welcomed their son, Prince Archie, in 2019, followed by daughter Lilibet in 2021.
Since then, the couple has offered glimpses of their life in Montecito, California, where they relocated in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior working royals. In February, Meghan shared an endearing photo of Harry smiling while holding Lilibet, who was grasping several red balloons.
“These two + Archie = my forever Valentines,” Meghan captioned the post on Instagram.
Reflecting on how they settled in Montecito, Meghan told New York Magazine’s The Cut in 2022 that they were “looking in this area” and that “this house kept popping up online in searches.”
“We didn’t have jobs, so visiting the house wasn’t an option. It was like when you’re window shopping and think, ‘I don’t want to look at things I can’t afford—that doesn’t feel good,’” she explained.
Eventually, they toured the property and fell in love with the home.
“One of the first things my husband noticed when we went around the house were those two palm trees,” Meghan shared with the outlet. “They’re connected at the bottom. He said, ‘My love, it’s us.’ Now, every day when Archie walks by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’”
She added, “You enter [the house] and feel … joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”
Over the years, Meghan has expressed how warmly the community has embraced their family. She remarked that she has made “a couple of girlfriends up here,” who are “stay-at-home moms and working women with normal jobs, not in the public eye.”
“Once you get to know us, I believe you want us to have the same normalcy as parents and for our children, despite our unique circumstances,” Meghan told People in 2025.
