Harvey Weinstein Pleased by Adrien Brody’s Reference to Children

Harvey Weinstein holds no grudges against Adrien Brody.

At the 2025 Oscars, Brody, 52, expressed appreciation for Weinstein’s two children with Georgina Chapman, who he has been in a relationship with since 2019, during his Academy Award acceptance speech.

Weinstein, 73, mentioned that he felt “happy” about Brody acknowledging his daughter India, 15, and son Dashiell, 12.

“It’s nice that my kids have someone in their lives,” Weinstein remarked in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published on Tuesday, March 10. “Georgina has gone through so much because of me. I’m glad she’s finally found some happiness.”

Brody won the best actor award for his performance in The Brutalist at the March 2025 Oscars.

He acknowledged Chapman, 49, crediting her for “reinvigorating my own self-worth but also my values and our values.” Brody also expressed gratitude to “her beautiful children” for welcoming him into their family, sharing that India and Dashiell affectionately refer to him as “Popsy.”

Weinstein previously commented on Brody’s speech in a statement to Us Weekly in March 2025.

“Harvey is pleased for Georgina and thankful that his children are receiving the love and care they deserve,” his representative shared at that time.

Weinstein married Chapman, his second wife, in December 2007. Nearly ten years later, it was revealed in October 2017 that Chapman had filed for divorce, just one week following his sexual assault scandal.

“I spoke with my wife Georgina, whom I love dearly, and we discussed what was best for our family,” Weinstein shared with Us Weekly at the time. “We considered separation, and I encouraged her to follow her heart. Ultimately, she chose to separate.”

Their divorce was settled by January 2018.

Rumors of a romance between Chapman and Brody surfaced in 2019, but they remained private until going public in June 2021. Brody and Chapman maintained a low profile until he experienced a winning streak during the 2025 awards season for The Brutalist.

“To my beautiful and amazing partner, Georgina. Your generosity of spirit, resilience, and immense creativity serve as a daily reminder of how to live,” Brody remarked upon winning the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 2025 Golden Globes. “I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. There was a time not long ago when I thought I might never experience this again, so thank you.”
