Hailee Steinfeld Shares Highlights from Her Stunning Backyard Baby Shower
Hailee Steinfeld is revealing details about her charming baby shower, which was organized by her mother, Cheri Steinfeld.
“On a sunlit Saturday in LA, my mom and around 30 wonderful women gathered in my favorite place — my backyard — for a baby shower,” the 29-year-old Oscar nominee shared via her Beau Society newsletter on Tuesday, March 17. “My mom orchestrated the entire beautiful event.”
For the occasion, Steinfeld’s mom decorated the backyard with an abundance of gingham, from tablecloths to decorative ribbons, and even set up a knitting station for guests to craft a special gift for the little one.
There was “no specific baby shower theme, but a subtle nursery rhyme motif was woven throughout the decor,” the Sinners actress noted, adding that nursery books were scattered “everywhere.”
“Everyone brought a book, so this baby is amassing quite the little library,” she wrote.
Guests were also encouraged to knit their own square for a baby blanket dedicated to the star’s first baby with husband Josh Allen.
“This is a very full-circle moment for me because my mom took up knitting when I made my first movie,” Steinfeld elaborated. “She would spend all day in a trailer with nothing to do. It was Sudoku or knitting, and she chose the latter. We joked that she would knit the red carpet because she never stopped.”
“She taught me how to knit ages ago,” the Edge of Seventeen star continued. “I can’t really cast on or off, but I managed to knit a square for this baby’s blanket. It feels like I’ve revisited a fun hobby.”
Steinfeld first disclosed her pregnancy in her Beau Society newsletter back in December 2025. She and Buffalo Bills quarterback Allen, also 29, were first linked in May 2023 and announced their engagement in November 2024. The couple married last May.
Last month, the Hawkeye actress opened up about her pregnancy journey in her newsletter, stating that “the reality that our little family is about to grow” has “really started to settle in.”
“The most profound and grounding aspect of preparing for this baby has been the introspective side of it [and] the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost daily,” she shared with her fans. “Sometimes, I find myself pondering big, lofty questions (‘What will I be like as a mom?’) or envisioning what our life will look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.”
She further added, “While reflecting, I’ve experienced this surreal, full-body awareness that our world is about to expand in beautiful ways. We’re getting ready to welcome someone we already love so much. I’ve been searching for words to encapsulate that feeling, but I haven’t found them yet. Maybe that’s the essence of it. For now, I’m grateful to be embracing the feeling.”
