Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Celebrates Baby’s First Birthday Following Loss
Cori Broadus is honoring the first birthday of her and fiancé Wayne Duece’s daughter following her passing.
In an Instagram post from Tuesday, March 24, Cori — daughter of Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus — reflected on her day commemorating her late daughter, Codi. (Snoop, 54, also has sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, 29, with Shante, and another son, Julian, 27, from a previous relationship.)
The video showed Cori releasing balloons at Codi’s burial site before boarding a boat with her family and friends.
“Codi’s 1st Cday Recap🎀 forever my baby!!” she captioned her post.
Cori gave birth to Codi prematurely in February 2025. Later, she spoke about her experiences as a NICU mom.
“That girl is so feisty. That’s a feisty girl. She’s so resilient and strong,” Cori exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2025 about her daughter’s NICU journey. “She just has so much character. The doctors and nurses continually tell me, ‘Your baby has her own mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s happening. She can hear. She can see. While the situation isn’t what you expected, it could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
She further explained, “The NICU experience is unique; you have to know to know, and it’s not an easy environment to navigate. However, the support is incredible. Sometimes I enter [the NICU] and can’t help but cry, and I apologize. They respond, ‘What are you apologizing for? This is normal. If you weren’t crying, we’d worry. Just stay close and keep hope alive.’”
Codi was discharged from the NICU after several months in January.
“She’s home,” Codi wrote on Instagram, sharing a collection of photos and videos of them together in bed. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Weeks later, Cori shared the heartbreaking news of Codi’s passing. “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori posted on Instagram at the time. “20 days later? Dawg, I’m sick.”
Duece also honored their daughter with a tribute.
“I’ve been the saddest since you left me, Codi Dreaux,” he wrote via Instagram Story at that time. “But, I know you are at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby. #LongLiveCodiDreaux.”
