David Henrie Reveals Wife’s Pregnancy, She Modifies Caption
Wizards of Waverly Place star David Henrie is getting ready to grow their family with his wife Maria Cahill.
“SURPRISE! I thought this was the perfect moment to share the exciting news… Maria is 5 months pregnant!” the 36-year-old actor shared on Instagram on Sunday, April 5, along with a special photo featuring his children, with their faces covered by heart eyes emojis.
“Here’s a crazy story. To keep it short, Maria and I had come to terms with the idea that the ‘big family’ dream might not align with God’s plan for us,” he continued. “Which was fine; we’re thankful for our 3! Through a miraculous encounter that we would have never experienced without @seekingbeauty.ewtn in Seville, Spain, and the intercession of St. Teresa of Avila, we are expecting our 4th! He is risen. Truly, He is risen. King of kings.”
Cahill, 35, later added her own voice to the announcement, revealing that she “borrowed” her husband’s phone to adjust the caption and share it with his 2.9 million followers.
“While I’m thrilled for David to share this with you, I also acknowledge that pregnancy announcements can be challenging for those trying to conceive and facing difficulties,” she expressed, addressing those dealing with fertility struggles. “I’ve been there—endeavoring to be happy for others while simultaneously mourning the happiness I wish could have been mine.”
Cahill reflected on her personal journey to motherhood, sharing that she and Henrie are looking forward to welcoming a baby boy soon. The couple has been married since April 2017 and are the proud parents of Pia, 7, James, 5, and Gemma, 3.
“While I’m overjoyed to welcome a brother into our family, I can’t help but think of all the women out there. Please know that I see you, think of you, and am praying earnestly for your future pregnancies,” she expressed. “It took me many years to accept letting go of my vision for the ‘perfect family,’ but I assure you that God’s plans for us (or what He allows) transcends our understanding, and hopefully one day it will all make sense. Love you, ladies. ❤️”
Cahill and Henrie are poised to celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary after exchanging vows in a heartfelt ceremony attended by fellow Wizards of Waverly Place stars, including Selena Gomez, who played Justin Russo’s sister, Alex Russo, on the beloved series.
