Tom Sandoval Speaks Out on West Wilson and Amanda Batula Scandal

Tom Sandoval is sharing his thoughts on whether West Wilson should be the next Bravo star to join House of Villains, especially in light of his current scandal.

At 42, Tom confessed to Us Weekly that he hasn’t been keeping up with the drama surrounding West’s relationship with Summer House co-star Amanda Batula. Nonetheless, he believes that West, who is 31, would be an excellent addition for a possible season 4.

“It’s similar to any other show. If someone on a reality series can hold their own—much like on Traitors—they generally fare better,” he told Us during a joint exit interview with Tyson Apostol. “You’d have just as good a chance as anyone else.”

Hosted by Joel McHale, House of Villains features a lineup of reality television’s most memorable villains. The participants live together while competing in challenges for power and safety, voting to eliminate one another until the last villain standing wins a $200,000 cash prize.

Bravo’s leading reality shows have a knack for delivering shock and awe on-screen. Vanderpump Rules fans will always recall where they were in March 2023 when news broke of Tom Sandoval’s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, while he was still in a relationship with Ariana Madix. This scandal became famously known as […]

Tom joined the show in season 3, following his notorious cheating scandal with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss while dating then-girlfriend Ariana Madix. He has since moved past the drama and hopes that reality TV fans have too.

“I’ve mentally moved on with my life and am focusing on all the positive aspects. I have some upcoming projects that I’m excited about — though I can’t reveal any details — but I can’t control what people think,” he remarked. “All I can do is live my life and look ahead.”

Participating in House of Villains provided Tom with “fun” opportunities and allowed him to build friendships, particularly with fellow contestant Tyson, 46. In a conversation with Us, the Survivor alum expressed a different perspective regarding his villain persona.

“I’ve never been a villain. I’ve always seen myself as a hero,” he joked. “I’ve always been a hero to my fan base.”

Tyson also mentioned his initial assumptions about Tom after watching him on The Traitors, saying, “I really appreciated that he was willing to put himself out there without concern. He was the only one brave enough to try singing backwards. I found myself thinking, ‘I think I’ll like this guy.’ Whenever I participate in these shows, my aim is always to have fun and enjoy the experience a bit.”

He added, “With some of the personalities involved, it made it a bit challenging at times. Tom was my fun anchor. I knew that if I was with Tom, we’d have a great time as long as we could find a private space.”

Tom described the experience as “really surprising.”

“It exceeded my expectations. I had tons of fun. Meeting Tyson and being surrounded by such a terrific group of people was fantastic. I had my reservations about joining House of Villains — mainly because of the title — but I feel like we’re quite different,” he shared. “I’m thrilled. I felt we created a fantastic show, and it was a blast.”

New episodes of House of Villains premiere on Peacock Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET, and the Official House of Villains Podcast follows right after each episode.
