Melissa Gorga Responds to Jen Armstrong’s Remarks About Her Appearance
Melissa Gorga is speaking out against Jen Armstrong after she inaccurately described some of Gorga’s facial treatments publicly.
“It was incredibly uncomfortable when she put my face up on a screen, showcasing the before and after,” Gorga, 47, mentioned exclusively to Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 15, during the launch event of the premium colostrum-based wellness line Bovita Health at Ludlow House in New York City.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star remembered Armstrong, 46, using an “after” picture of her when she had “so much makeup on, I barely resembled myself.”
“I thought, ‘Wow, does anyone understand how it feels to have someone sit there with a pin, going down your nose? … I was like, this is so messed up,’” Gorga admitted, referring to a video Armstrong uploaded about her in September 2024. “It’s absurd that anyone would do this.”
The video in question was shared by Armstrong on YouTube and her social media as part of her “Celebrity Review” series.
Armstrong, who is a cosmetic dermatologist, captioned the video, “You requested it, and I delivered … the highly anticipated Celebrity Review: Melissa Gorga. I believe she looks fabulous in both photos! Let’s take a closer look 👩🏼⚕️🔎✨.”
Armstrong analyzed Gorga’s supposed history with plastic surgery based solely on two images, claiming that Gorga underwent a rhinoplasty (nose job) and a brow lift among other enhancements to her appearance. Armstrong described Gorga’s chin in the first photo as having a “very stark” pointed shape that, according to her, was “toxed” to soften it.
Gorga clarified to Us that while she felt very exposed by Armstrong’s analysis, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum’s evaluations were incorrect.
“She was asserting, ‘[Melissa] definitely did something here to her chin.’ I’ve never altered my chin in my life,” Gorga explained. “She mentioned, ‘She definitely has done something with her eyebrows.’ I’ve never touched my eyebrows.”
Gorga acknowledged that while Armstrong was “very kind” at times during her commentary, she still felt awkward having someone she barely knew dissect her appearance.
“She commented, ‘Melissa’s doing it right; whatever she’s doing, it’s very subtle.’ So she threw in some complimentary comments,” Gorga told Us. “But I was left feeling that it was so strange to have someone analyze my face on a screen.”

The reality star remarked, “I suppose that’s just part of the ups and downs of being in the spotlight. Watching it made me feel so uncomfortable.”
While Gorga dismissed some of Armstrong’s claims about her appearance, she told Us during the Bovita Health launch that she isn’t opposed to undergoing cosmetic procedures.
Gorga — who has previously discussed getting a nose job on RHONJ — shared that the “wildest” treatment she has tried was recently injecting “exosomes into my scalp.” The Bravolebrity explained that exosomes are derived from the placenta and assist with hair growth.
According to dermatologist Dr. Mona Gohara, exosomes help reduce inflammation, repair damaged tissue, and increase collagen production. “Consider them a high-tech signaling system that coordinates skin regeneration,” she mentioned to NBC News recently.
Although Gorga has experimented with various beauty treatments and health trends, she told Us that she hasn’t yet tried a salmon sperm facial — an anti-aging procedure using PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) extracted from salmon seminal fluid.
“It’s a bit odd, but I haven’t tried that yet. However, I hear wonderful things,” she shared, adding that she received Botox one day prior to the NYC event.
Us Weekly has reached out to Armstrong’s representative for a statement.
