Drew Tarver of Running Point Mocks Lisa Rinna’s Cameo Appearance

Lisa Rinna‘s memorable guest appearance on Running Point made a lasting impact on her fellow cast members.

Drew Tarver, who performed alongside Rinna, spoke exclusively with Us Weekly about their interactions, remarking, “Oh, my God. She was so hilarious. Her yelling at me — it was such a blast.”

Tarver commended Rinna for her skill in portraying an exaggerated version of herself, saying, “She excels at it. Honestly, I was a bit intimidated.”

The popular Netflix series, which debuted in 2025, centers around Kate Hudson as a transformed party girl who gets the opportunity to prove her worth when she takes charge of her family’s professional basketball team.

Alongside Hudson, Running Point features Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, Justin Theroux, Tarver, Brenda Song, and Uche Agada. The sports comedy takes pride in its ensemble of celebrity cameos.

In conversations with Us ahead of season 2, several cast members expressed enthusiasm for the idea of Hudson’s stepfather, Kurt Russell, making a guest appearance. In April 2026, Us proposed the idea of Russell portraying the late Gordon patriarch, a suggestion that resonated well with the cast.

MacArthur, who portrays Ness, humorously mentioned he “always considered” Russell to be like a father figure, adding, “I’m totally on board.” Guido, who plays the character Jackie, also expressed his desire to work alongside Russell.

“I hadn’t even thought of that. Wow!” he remarked, while season 2 guest star Ken Marino also chimed in, stating in his interview with Us, “That’d be incredible! Yes, that’s a brilliant idea. Let’s make it happen!”

Executive producer Jeanie Buss was equally excited about the potential guest appearance.

“Oh, that would be phenomenal. Seriously, what an awesome idea!” Buss remarked. “I wholeheartedly support that.”

The proposal also received favorable feedback from executive producer David Stassen, who mentioned that discussions had taken place.

“That’s an excellent idea,” Stassen affirmed. “It’s been considered. If we ever do include him, we could not select anyone better than Kurt Russell.”
