Mika Abdalla from Off Campus Hints at Season 2 Twist for Allie and Dean

Off Campus has made some creative adjustments to Allie and Dean’s narrative, and now Mika Abdalla is hinting at what’s in store for them in season 2.

“While we do hint at Dean and Allie’s relationship earlier than anticipated, viewers will still crave more,” Abdalla, 26, shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “That aspect excites me because you really want to see how it unfolds.”

Abdalla emphasized the show’s commitment to honoring various facets of Allie and Dean’s romance.

“Allie and Hannah’s storylines are deeply intertwined, so it made sense to explore that connection this season,” she remarked about the intensified focus on Allie and Dean. “Each book builds on the previous ones, making it essential to incorporate key elements from the other stories this season.”

Based on Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus book series, the show debuted on Wednesday, May 13, and centers around an elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives as they navigate love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forming lasting friendships while confronting the challenges of adulthood,” according to the official synopsis.

Season 1 primarily showcased the romance between Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett (Belmont Cameli), making several modifications to critical moments from their book, The Deal. Meanwhile, Allie and Dean (Stephen Kalyn) were introduced as potential leads, despite their focus being in the series’ third book.

“For the scenes involving Allie and Dean that are based on the book, there was more excitement than pressure to portray them correctly,” she told Us. “I’m grateful we can present this nugget to book fans.”

Abdalla expressed enthusiasm about further developing Allie’s character.

“In developing Allie, she possesses a vivacious personality. She naturally draws attention and is often a bundle of energy,” the actress, who initially auditioned for the role of Hannah, shared. “When I learned they wanted me to take on Allie and finally received the scripts, it felt just right, and everything fell into place beautifully.”

Looking ahead, Abdalla is eager to delve deeper into the characters, no matter how long the wait may be.

“I’m really looking forward to exploring who Allie and Dean are at a deeper level. They both project certain fronts that can be hard to penetrate. They embody their own stereotypes, if you will,” she noted. “However, the books reveal so much complexity beneath Allie and Dean’s surfaces.”

She added: “When our season arrives, I’m excited to delve emotionally into these characters. In season 1, we see much of Allie and Dean’s outer personas, which is certainly fun and makes for enjoyable characters. Nevertheless, both actors are eager to engage in deeper psychological exploration.”
