Rod Stewart Cancels Las Vegas Performance on Doctor’s Orders
Rod Stewart is adhering to his doctor’s recommendations.
“As per his physician’s guidance, Rod Stewart has sadly canceled his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30; however, he is slated to resume shows starting June 2,” a spokesperson for Stewart, 81, informed a local media outlet, the Las Vegas Review in a statement on Friday, May 29.
Stewart was originally scheduled to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. The report indicated that his cancellation was partly due to a sinus infection.
“I sincerely apologize to my loyal fans,” a separate announcement from Stewart stated. “I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I eagerly anticipate seeing you at a future performance at Caesars Palace or during my tour this summer.”
Ticketmaster also communicated with fans, reportedly stating that refunds will be available for those who purchased tickets for the canceled engagements.
“Regrettably, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” the statement indicated.
These performances were part of Stewart’s The Encore Shows for his Las Vegas residency. The concert series was set to run from May 27 to June 6, with a subsequent return from August 18 to 29.
In 2024, Stewart revealed that he would be wrapping up “large-scale world tours” but had “no intention of retiring.”
“I love what I do and I do what I love,” he shared via Instagram at that time. “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the ripe age of 79. I intend to transition into a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour in the following year — at smaller venues and with a more intimate feel. But then again, I might not.”
Next year, Stewart revealed via Instagram his One Last Time shows scheduled from March in Connecticut to August in Kansas City, Missouri.
“ONE LAST TIME! 🎶,” he posted at the time. “You won’t want to miss these shows; tickets will go on sale this Friday, Nov 14th @ 10am local 🎸✨ See you there!!”
That same year, he made headlines by postponing his Las Vegas residency just hours before the performance was due to begin.
“I regret to inform you that I’m not feeling well, and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace needs to be rescheduled to June 10,” he shared through his Instagram Story at that moment. “Your tickets will remain valid for the new date.”
