Will Jessica Treska Star in an Euphoria Spinoff Following the Series Finale?

Euphoria‘s series finale has sparked mixed reactions among fans, but many viewers are united in their interest for a potential spinoff centered on Jessica Treska‘s fictional religious character, who lives away from society.

Treska’s character, Daisy Miller, made her debut in the season 3 premiere as Rue (Zendaya) departed from the Miller family home. Throughout the season, Rue referred to this location as the most “peaceful” place she had ever visited. Daisy, who is quite detached from the modern world, exhibited curiosity about Rue’s life.

Colman Domingo) visited the farm following Rue’s tragic death, which he avenged by confronting her boss Alamo Brown in a dramatic clash. He informed Daisy that her friend was “in a better place,” leaving her visibly affected as the group gathered to pray in Rue’s memory.

One viewer expressed on X, “Why do I suddenly feel like SHE’S gonna become the next narrator replacing Rue? The way the camera focused on her this episode felt way too intentional.”

While several social media users were enthusiastic about the possibility of more Daisy-centric episodes, others reminded them that Euphoria has officially concluded. Creator Sam Levinson confirmed this after the finale aired on Sunday, May 31, which featured Rue’s death.

“The honest ending is that people like Rue don’t make it,” Levinson stated in a post-finale discussion. “People relapse and they f*** up. They’re not ready to get clean. And they weren’t dying like they are now with the influx of fentanyl into this country.”

Levinson shared his own experiences with addiction, noting, “I could say with absolute certainty that if I was going through what I went through when I was younger now, then I wouldn’t be here either,” he remarked, also referencing Angus Cloud‘s tragic death from an accidental overdose. “There’s no reason to sugarcoat it. I wanted to tell the story for Angus and for those who weren’t granted a second chance.”

Levinson described the finale as “an honest ending.” He had previously shared plans to dedicate the season to Cloud, who passed away at age 25 before filming for the final episodes commenced. During one of Rue’s last scenes, she has a flashback featuring Cloud’s character, Fezco “Fez” O’Neill.

“Some people wonder why it took so long between seasons 2 and 3. There were clear reasons — the strikes, aligning schedules with our sought-after cast, but the main reason was ensuring we paid tribute to those we lost,” Levinson shared at the April premiere event for season 3.

He continued: “When Angus died, it was heartbreaking. I cared for him deeply and worked diligently to help him stay clean. In 2023, he was one of 73,000 individuals in America who lost their lives to a fentanyl overdose. I learned a lot that year, but above all, I realized that death gives life its meaning. We can’t take existence for granted. We must confront the reality that life itself is a wonder, a gift, and a profound blessing.”

Euphoria is now available for streaming on HBO Max.
