Phil Mickelson Faces Allegations of ‘Nonconsensual’ Conduct Involving a Woman

Pro golfer Phil Mickelson has been removed from a prestigious golf club following allegations of “nonconsensual and inappropriate” contact with a club employee.

According to a report by Golf Digest published on Thursday, June 11, a female staff member at The Farms Golf Club, near San Diego, accused Mickelson, 55, of the unwanted behavior before a round of golf earlier this year.

“Mickelson approached the female employee in the clubhouse, where he engaged in nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact with her,” the report noted. “The employee rejected his advances.”

After returning to the golf course, the woman informed her supervisors of the incident. The club promptly began “a review and investigation” and confronted Mickelson on the course before he completed his round.

“Following that confrontation, he was instructed to leave the premises,” the report added, and Mickelson complied.

In a statement to Golf Digest, The Farms Golf Club expressed, “The Farms Golf Club is dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful environment that upholds the highest standards of conduct. All members must adhere to our Code of Conduct, and any claims of misconduct are taken seriously. After a staff member reported member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a comprehensive independent investigation, and took decisive action. This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club.”

The statement continued, “The Farms conducts thorough reviews of all reported matters according to California Law and takes appropriate actions when necessary, consistent with our commitment to integrity, excellence, and accountability. To safeguard the safety and privacy of our staff and members, we cannot comment further on this matter. We appreciate your understanding.”

Multiple sources have confirmed to the outlet that Mickelson is the person involved in the investigation.

When approached for comments regarding the allegations, a spokesperson for the six-time major champion declined to offer specific details.

“Any misunderstanding has been resolved,” the spokesperson stated. “Phil is currently focused on a family health issue and is unsure when he will return to the professional golf circuit.”

This year, Mickelson has withdrawn from several tournaments, including the Masters and PGA Championship, citing personal reasons.

“I regret to announce that I will not be participating in the Masters Tournament next week and will be out for an extended period as my family deals with a personal health matter,” Mickelson shared on Instagram on April 2. “I hold great respect for Augusta National Golf Club, which makes this week truly special.”

Phil has been married to his wife, Amy, since 1996, and the couple has three children: daughters Amanda, born in 1999, and Sophia, born in 2001, as well as son Evan, born in 2003.
