Meghan Markle Offers Insights into Life at Home with Prince Harry
Meghan Markle is ushering in a new season with a glimpse into her family life alongside Prince Harry and their children.
On Tuesday, June 9, Markle, 44, shared a series of candid snapshots from their beautiful home in Montecito, California, on Instagram.
“Springing into summer 🌼,” the Duchess of Sussex captioned the post, featuring a striking black-and-white photo of herself reclining on the grass with a straw hat shading her face, surrounded by freshly cut flowers.
One image shows Harry, 41, kicking a giant soccer ball around the yard with their son, Archie, 7, while another captures their daughter, Lilibet, 5, wearing a white T-shirt adorned with an illustration of Beyoncé. “B is for Beyoncé,” read a caption above the drawing, which included large hoop earrings inscribed with “Queen Bey.”
A different black-and-white shot depicted Markle and Harry from behind, sitting on a bench seemingly taking a break during a workout, with Markle resting her sneaker-clad feet next to her as she cuddled Harry, who was wearing a backwards cap.
Additional images featured the couple’s rescue beagle, Mamma Mia, lounging in the sun on the porch, a bird’s nest containing three white eggs and later three chicks, Markle donning a double denim outfit while chopping onions in the kitchen, and a basket overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables likely gathered from their garden.
Just five days earlier, Markle marked Lilibet’s 5th birthday with a smaller Instagram carousel showcasing the little one exploring a lush garden and being cherished by her beaming parents. “Our dream girl,” Markle wrote. “Happy 5th birthday, Lili.”
Markle and Harry exchanged vows on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel in England. They honored their first wedding anniversary the same month their son Archie was born. The following year, the couple announced their choice to step back as senior royal family members before permanently relocating to the U.S.
In August 2020, news surfaced that the couple had acquired a $14.65 million home in Montecito. A source informed Us Weekly at the time, “Montecito is only just over an hour’s drive from L.A., where most of their work is based, yet far enough away to escape the crowds, paparazzi, and tourism from Hollywood.”
Lilibet was born in June 2021. The couple announced via a statement on their philanthropy website, “On June 4th, we welcomed our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve received from around the world. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”
They revealed that their daughter’s first name was chosen to honor her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at the age of 96 in September 2022, and who held the family nickname, Lilibet, herself.
