RHOC’s Kelly Dodd Declares Daughter Jolie, 20, Has Embraced a ‘Woke’ Mindset

Kelly Dodd asserts that her daughter, Jolie Dodd, has “completely transformed” following an international trip.

“She had a great upbringing, but then she went to Paris and became woke,” Kelly, 50, stated during the June 3 episode of the “Hate to Break It to Ya” podcast. “I’m serious. I’m completely serious. It’s not a joke.”

While conversing with host Jamie Kennedy, Kelly suggested that her college sophomore daughter might be facing “brainwashing” while studying in France.

“[She’s] becoming woke, getting indoctrinated. It’s a socialist nation, it has turned into that,” she claimed. “You get brainwashed in college. Kids get brainwashed. [The colleges are] all left-leaning.”

Kelly noted that Jolie, 20, “doesn’t support ICE” and has heated discussions with her mother regarding the controversial federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security responsible for criminal investigations, border control, and enforcing immigration laws.

“She won’t let you speak. She won’t listen,” Kelly remarked. “We had an argument, and she went to her dad’s. She has never lived with her dad [Michael]. She has always lived with me. I raised her.”

When Jolie was approached about Kelly’s recent interview, she chose not to comment.

In her latest podcast appearance, Kelly questioned if she should have adopted a different approach to parenting as her daughter transitioned from teenager to young adult.

“Are you familiar with Carnie Wilson?” Kelly asked. “I adore Carnie. She’s one of my favorite individuals ever, but her parenting approach — I need to learn from her because I’m the absolute opposite. Listening to her way of raising her daughter is eye-opening. She allows her daughter to sleep until one or two in the morning and then nap until noon. I was the complete reverse of that.”

The former Real Housewives of Orange County star characterized herself as a “hard ass” who is “strict.”

“My daughter didn’t appreciate the rules,” Kelly added, “and right now, she’s rebelling.”

Kelly’s remarks have garnered mixed reactions from podcast listeners. The Valley: Persian Style star Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi reacted to a clip from the podcast, stating, “Barf.”

As for Kennedy, 56, he claims Kelly isn’t the first parent to notice shifts in their children once they head to college.

“I’ve been hearing this from numerous parents — once the kids go off to school, their brains get hijacked. How many people can relate to this?” he questioned via Instagram on Sunday, June 7. “When I moved to LA, my sister warned my mom, ‘You gotta watch Jamie. He is highly suggestible,’ and my mother replied, ‘NOO, we instilled our morals in that boy!!!’ And she was correct. I’m hesitant to do things now that would upset my mother, and she’s not here. What changed???”
