Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Her Twins’ Graduation with Heartwarming Photos
Jennifer Lopez expressed immense pride as she shared a glimpse into her twins Max and Emme’s high school graduation.
“They say I’m lucky, and I don’t argue… Just this feeling,” Lopez, 56, captioned a post on Saturday, June 27, along with an Instagram carousel highlighting special moments in her life.
The images showcase the twins celebrating their inclusion in the class of 2026, as well as other personal milestones, like marking the release of her new Netflix comedy Office Romance with a box of cupcakes and indulging in what might be the world’s largest croissant.
Lopez has frequently contemplated the idea of becoming an empty nester in recent months, with the twins set to attend two different colleges this fall.
Earlier this month, Lopez shared with Extra that both Max and Emme have triumphed over challenges to reach graduation. (Lopez co-parents the twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, from whom she was married from 2004 to 2014.)
The “On the Floor” singer highlighted that the twins’ academic achievements are especially commendable considering their ADHD, which means they “learn differently and faced obstacles.”
“I’m incredibly proud that they set goals for themselves. They were accepted into all five colleges they applied to and each received a scholarship,” Lopez shared. “I watched them work so hard from the time school got serious in the fifth grade.”
She continued, “I’m just so proud of them for achieving what they aimed for. They are great human beings — loving and kind-hearted. They always said to me, ‘Doesn’t matter if we get good grades as long as we are good people.’ I told them, ‘That’s right.’ They still remind me of that. So, I am very, very proud of both of them.”
During a May appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jennifer revealed she had been “crying for two months” about the twins heading to college. She confirmed that, similar to high school, Max and Emme decided to attend different universities.
“It’s fine. I want them to be happy, to go where they desire, and to pursue their passions,” she remarked.
Regarding her transition to being an empty nester, Lopez acknowledged on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on June 8 that it has been an “emotional time.”
“It’s always been the three of us,” she reminisced. “Others have come and gone, but it’s always been us. They’ve always been there for me, and I for them.”
Lopez confessed that, until recently, she “never really thought” about her twins moving out.
“I just didn’t think that far ahead,” she admitted to host Andy Cohen. “I believed that they were so independent — I gave them roots and wings. [I thought], ‘This is great, this is how it should be … it’s a healthy mom thing to do.’ But a couple of months ago, while writing something for their end-of-year program for graduation, I couldn’t stop crying every time it came to mind. I could cry right now.”
