Love Island USA’s Jen Accuses Gal of Failing to Give Her Compliments
Love Island USA‘s Jen Terry expressed her frustration with Gal Tshnieder for not giving her enough compliments.
“I think you’re incredibly attractive and I really enjoy our conversations. We get along well, but I just don’t feel that we have a sexual connection,” Jen shared with Gal during the Monday, June 29, episode.
She voiced her doubts about their chemistry, saying, “I feel like you don’t like me and you haven’t complimented me at all. I can’t recall a single compliment from you, and not being able to think of one is concerning.”
Jen added, “There are girls here that you seem more interested in, which makes me feel like I’m just a backup option.”
In response, Gal explained that his reluctance to show affection publicly was the only reason he hadn’t kissed her in front of others. They agreed to continue working on their relationship, just as Kenzie Annis made her own advances towards him.
Jen has been refreshingly honest in the villa, previously admitting to feelings of insecurity when the guys weren’t showing interest in her.
“I know I’m beautiful, but here—except when I was with Gabe—I sometimes feel like, ‘Am I unattractive?’” she said during the Thursday, June 25 episode. “Is something wrong with my personality?”
She continued, “I’m used to guys being infatuated with me. It’s been challenging here.”
Love Island USA follows a group of singles who must partner up to remain in the luxurious villa. The contestants, known as Islanders, live in seclusion under constant video surveillance. To stay in the competition and vie for the $100,000 prize, they must be in couples.
The show is riding high on a record-setting season, with season 7 achieving 18.4 billion streaming minutes, making it the most-watched original season of television on the platform.
“[This season] places greater importance on the journey rather than the outcome,” narrator Iain Stirling revealed to Us Weekly exclusively in July 2025. “It’s about the experience of finding someone and personal growth during that process. In previous seasons, the focus was more on conventional approaches to dating.”
While some fans have questioned these modern love journeys, Stirling is in favor of Islanders embracing a new mindset.
“The objective used to be finding a partner and fulfilling that relationship contract,” he noted. “Now, many people create their own expectations and seek the personal experiences they desire.”
He added, “These individuals are mostly in their early 20s. If you can’t prioritize yourself while dating at that age, when can you? Unlike people from my generation, who often avoided being selfish in their 20s for fear of hurting others, many end up entering their 30s and 40s feeling regretful. Perhaps this is a healthier approach.”
