Peter Weber Denounces Bachelor Producer’s Allegations Regarding His Love Life

Peter Weber has responded after former Bachelor producer Julie LaPlaca alleged they had a hidden romance behind the scenes.

“It’s quite ironic that Julie is publishing a book focused on discovering your truth and seeking love, especially when I was doing just that on my season of The Bachelor, with her as my primary confidant and guide, yet her actions suggested otherwise,” Peter, 34, stated in an interview with TMZ on Tuesday, July 7, following the release of Julie’s memoir, The Love Producer.

Peter also reflected on how Julie’s role as his producer might have influenced the dynamics of their relationship.

“I’m definitely not a victim in this situation. I’m an adult responsible for my decisions, and I understand that,” he elaborated. “However, going through an experience like this involved a level of trust placed in people I didn’t know well at that time.”

Years after their relationship sparked interest among Bachelor Nation fans, former producer Julie LaPlaca is revealing all about her bond with Peter Weber. “Peter had a genuine, pure heart that resonated with me,” Julie, 41, mentions in her new book, The Love Producer, released on Tuesday, July 7. “I sensed that he truly wanted to find […].

In his statement, Peter addressed former Bachelor host Chris Harrison, who penned the foreword for The Love Producer.

“I find it hard to comprehend how [Chris] and Julie can both support a book like this when they know how disappointed they made me,” he remarked.

Peter stated he had a 90-minute conversation with Julie, 41, prior to the book’s release, in which he requested discretion regarding the intimate aspects of their relationship.

“Her laughing in my face while I vulnerably expressed my desire to be excluded from this book was inexcusable,” he claimed. “(And yes, she is aware that I have recorded this conversation).”

Julie worked on multiple seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, notably developing a close relationship with Peter while he was the lead in season 24. In her memoir, Julie described how their connection turned romantic after the conclusion of his season’s filming. She claimed they had hooked up several times, even spending a night together shortly before Peter was seen reconnecting with his fifth runner-up, Kelley Flanagan, in 2020.

In an exclusive Us Weekly interview, Julie discussed Peter’s reaction to the book, asserting that he “responded from a place of fear” during their conversation about it.

“At that time, I offered to let him read a copy, and instead, he panicked, which is fine,” she said. “I truly wish him the best, and I hope that once he reads it, he understands it comes from a heartfelt place.”

Julie reiterated that she wasn’t “out to get” the season 24 Bachelor. “I’m simply sharing my truth and my story, and he played a significant role in my decision to leave and embark on my own healing journey, diving deeper into understanding my choices with men. I’m genuinely thankful for him,” she added.

Peter previously mentioned her claims in an Instagram comment before the book’s release, stating that he has “moved on from that time in my life” and had “asked Julie multiple times” to maintain their privacy.
