Golden Bachelor’s Peg Reveals She Was Recruited for DWTS

The Golden Bachelor’s Peg Munson suggested that fans of Dancing With the Stars might see her strutting her stuff on the dance floor soon.

“I had an interview with [producer and casting director] Deena Katz a few months back regarding Dancing With the Stars,” Peg, 63, shared during the Thursday, July 9, episode of the “She’s All Bach” podcast. “I think they have already set the cast for this season, but I reached out via email, sent her a little dancing clip, and she was pleasantly surprised, saying she’d definitely consider me for next season.”

She continued, “Having been a dancer, that’s really what I’m passionate about in this whole experience. I dance for my soul and with my heart. I truly believe I could give those young contestants a run for their money. Go boomers!”

Us Weekly has reached out to ABC for their feedback.

Later in her podcast discussion, Munson — who received a promise ring from Mel Owens during the Golden Bachelor season 2 finale — clarified the timeline regarding her potential DWTS involvement.

“I think right after filming wrapped, they reached out to you. There was some initial conversation, then it went quiet for a bit,” Mel, 67, noted.

“Right, something like that,” Peg concurred. “I would really enjoy doing that.”

Peg reiterated that any discussions about Dancing With the Stars would be aimed at season 36 in 2027 “unless there’s an emergency, like someone gets injured and a spot opens up.”

“I’m open; you never know,” she teased.

So far, Dancing With the Stars has revealed four celebrity contestants for season 35. This season will feature Summer House’s Ciara Miller and The Traitors fan favorite Maura Higgins, along with Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez and Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson.

The complete cast for DWTS season 35, along with their professional partners, will be announced on ABC’s Good Morning America on September 2.

One celebrity unlikely to ever compete for the Mirrorball Trophy is Full House star John Stamos, who has consistently declined invitations from producers “every single season.”

“I told them, ‘Don’t ask me again,’” Stamos, 62, revealed to host Bobby Bones on the Tuesday, July 7, episode of “The Bobbycast” podcast. “I’m never doing that show.”

He further stated, “What makes that show entertaining is watching people struggle and look foolish. They’re hurting themselves and dealing with calluses. I’d rather not be part of that.”

Dancing With the Stars is set to return to ABC this fall.
