Michele Fitzgerald Discusses Her Romance with Devin Walker from The Challenge
The Challenge’s Michele Fitzgerald provides insight into her relationship with Devin Walker as they commemorate over two years of being together.
“It’s been a lot of fun. Honestly, I don’t feel any pressure regarding our relationship,” Michele, 36, shared exclusively with Us on August 3 while promoting The Challenge: Cutthroat. “We’re both quite independent, so we’re just navigating life while enjoying ourselves. He makes me laugh all the time and seems to know what I need before I even realize it.”
Michele, the 2016 Survivor champion, began her relationship with Devin, 37, following her participation on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras in 2024. Now, two and a half years later, they are considering taking their relationship to the next level by looking for a shared apartment.
“He’s coming down to spend a weekend with my family,” she mentioned about the Are You the One? star. “There’s always something happening with us, and we are actively searching for a new place.”
In the latest season of The Challenge: Cutthroat, Michele is competing fiercely on her own — or at least without her boyfriend, who will be watching from home when episodes air.
Without criticizing her partner, Michele noted that competing without him makes her a more formidable contender.
“I don’t think it would work if he were on the show with me. We approach things very differently, and we both believe we’re right all the time, so it’s probably best we don’t compete together,” she said with a laugh to Us. “However, emotionally, it’s definitely tougher not having him around. You don’t want that constant tug of war.”
This season of The Challenge: Cutthroat features 24 contestants living in a stunning villa in Thailand, divided into three teams led by three captains. These teams are permanent, and the only way to seize a share of the $500,000 cash prize is to finish as a cohesive unit.
The new season format introduces fresh twists and surprises for all participants, including seasoned veterans of the franchise.
“Previously, the structure was quite rigid, with challenge, elimination, interview, and so forth. This time, it felt much more flexible,” Tori Deal told Us. “There was space to enjoy, and they encouraged us to bond. I had more fun this season than in any prior season. The team dynamic was advantageous since we had a built-in support system. I believe there should be more emphasis on enjoyment—if the editing allows for it.”
New episodes of The Challenge: Cutthroat premiere on Paramount+ each Wednesday.
