Matt and Abby Howard Joyfully Welcome Baby After Experiencing Loss

Influencers Matt and Abby Howard have joyfully welcomed a new member to their family.

“He’s here!!!!” Matt announced on Instagram on Monday, August 17, sharing the arrival of their newborn son, along with a heartwarming photo of Abby in tears after giving birth, holding her infant son with his face covered by an emoji.

“We have been cherishing every moment of this beautiful new chapter as a family of 5,” he continued. “Can’t wait to catch you all up on our life over the past week.”

Their newest addition joins older siblings, Griffin and August, born in 2022 and 2023, respectively. In March, the couple revealed they were expecting again after a prior pregnancy loss.

“Baby #4 🌈,” the couple captioned their Instagram announcement at the time. “We are exceedingly grateful.”

Earlier, Matt and Abby disclosed their excitement about having a third child.

“Pursuing our third baby feels even more exhilarating than before because now we truly know how wonderful it is,” they shared with People in August 2025.

In September 2025, the couple revealed that Abby sadly faced a pregnancy loss.

“With heavy hearts, we share about the loss of our baby girl, taken from us too soon,” Matt and Abby wrote on Instagram at the time. “During a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after, an ultrasound technician delivered the devastating news, saying, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news.’”

Their statement continued, “That was the moment we received the gender reveal we never wished for, along with the heartbreaking news that our baby had a genetic condition that claimed her life around 17 weeks along.”

The couple expressed that the situation felt “unimaginable” and that the grief has been “absolutely devastating.”

“However, we are immensely grateful for the time we had with her. We still hold on to hope, which keeps appearing in our lives in many forms,” Matt and Abby concluded. “For now, we will grieve and find meaningful ways to honor her life away from the public eye. Your thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you for celebrating this precious life with us over the last 17 weeks. ❤️”

Abby later opened up about returning to the hospital to begin the induction process.

“I often say that delivering our daughter was strangely similar to a live birth. You’re in the same unit as everyone else with living babies,” she recounted in a June episode of “The Squeeze” podcast. “There’s an incubator across from you that you know you won’t use. There’s no fetal monitoring at all. It’s an experience that no one should have to go through, but it has truly helped me grow.”
