Dan Orlovsky Expressed ‘Devastation’ Upon Discovering He Was About to Become a Father
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky is making headlines again with another provocative statement, revealing during a segment that he felt “devastated” upon discovering his wife was pregnant with their daughter.
“When my wife told me she was expecting again after we had our triplet sons, I was devastated,” he shared during a segment on First Take on Monday, August 17. “I was really bummed. Just because I was so exhausted.”
Realizing the weight of his words, Orlovsky, 43, promptly added, “And now I absolutely adore my daughter.”
The former NFL quarterback tied the knot with his wife, Tiffany Orlovsky, in 2009, and together they have four children. Their triplet sons—Madden, Hunter, and Noah—were born in 2011, followed by their daughter, Lennon, in 2015.
While Dan has had a few slip-ups on air, he has consistently demonstrated his love for his children throughout the years.
Madden, who has autism, has joined his dad on ESPN’s NFL Live for the last two years during Autism Awareness Day. In April 2026, Madden’s heartfelt message to his family brought Dan to tears.
“If you’re watching this, mom, I love you,” Madden exclaimed. “Hunter, you’re my favorite twin. Noah, I do like you. And Lennon, you’re a good sister. Thank you all for supporting me.”
Madden then rushed to embrace his dad in a touching moment.
“Madden, I just want to tell you how inspiring you are to so many people,” Dan’s cohost Laura Rutledge expressed. “There’s a lot of people watching right now who may think they can’t do something like this or they can’t go on TV and talk and sing, and you’re up here being absolutely amazing.”
Last year, Dan celebrated his son on television, referring to Madden’s autism and artistic talent as his “superpowers.”
“His greatest joy is to draw and create characters,” he noted. “It’s his superpower, and he’s incredibly gifted at it.”
Dan has also shared numerous proud—often adorable—moments with Lennon over the years, including a postgame kiss from his young daughter during his playing career and having her caddie for him at the Travelers Championship in 2023. Earlier this month, he tweeted about taking a run with Lennon, humorously noting that he “feels old now.”
