Justin Bieber’s Representative Denies ‘Harmful’ Drug Use Rumors

A representative for Justin Bieber has addressed the widespread concerns surrounding the singer’s health.

The spokesperson informed TMZ on Sunday, February 23, that allegations pertaining to Bieber using hard drugs are “absolutely false,” labeling the speculation as “exhausting and pitiful.” According to the representative, the discussions about Bieber’s mental wellness “demonstrate that, regardless of the evident truth, people are determined to perpetuate negative, salacious, and harmful narratives.”

The last year has been “very transformative” for Bieber, who “has ended several close friendships and business relationships that were no longer beneficial to him.”

An insider exclusively shared with Us Weekly earlier this month that Bieber, 30, is “happier than he has been in a long time” although his actions and recent appearances have raised eyebrows. “There’s no breakdown,” the insider remarked, emphasizing that the pop star “simply doesn’t care what others think.”

Justin initially raised concerns in January when observant fans found that he had unfollowed his wife, Hailey Bieber, on Instagram. The 28-year-old Rhode founder, however, remained a follower of Justin. (The couple, who got married in 2018, welcomed their son Jack Blues last year.)

Amid the buzz created by his social media activity, Justin clarified the situation on his Instagram Story. “Someone accessed my account and unfollowed my wife,” he stated. “S— is getting suss out here.”

Since then, Justin has been seen dressed casually and was even photographed leaving a spa without a shirt. “He’s merely being himself and won’t conform to an image of perfection just because the public desires it,” the source mentioned to Us this month.

Having experienced fame as a teen idol, Justin has navigated various highs and lows in the public eye. He has openly discussed his struggle with mental health, revealing to Vogue in February 2019 that he “became really depressed” during his Purpose tour and turned to Xanax.

“Drugs created a barrier between me and what I was doing. It got pretty dark,” he admitted. “There were times when my security would check on me late at night to ensure I was still alive.”

A source informed Us during that time that Justin sought therapy, stating, “He doesn’t want to rely on medication. He grapples with mood swings, anxiety, depression, and uncertainty about the future.”

Meanwhile, Hailey has remained steadfastly supportive of her husband. “I just wanted him to be happy and safe and feel joy,” she stated to Vogue. “I’m really proud of him. To achieve this without a program, and to maintain it without a sober coach or AA or classes — I think it’s remarkable. He is, in many ways, a walking miracle.”
