Blake Lively Reveals Baking with Friends is Her ‘Happy Place’ During Turbulent Times

Blake Lively is finding comfort in the kitchen alongside her close friends during the ongoing It Ends With Us legal turmoil.

“Baking with incredible food friends and their kitchen mixer that’s as big as a car,” Lively, 37, shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 28, alongside a picture of their delicious creation.

Lively included a sticker saying “this is what my happy place looks like” on her post, along with one that stated, “TBD.”

The Gossip Girl star has always had a passion for baking, informing Vogue in 2014 that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, humorously refers to their residence as “The Blakery” due to her constant creation of treats for their family. (Lively and Reynolds, 48, are the parents of four children.)

“Food is probably the most central part of my life,” Lively expressed in an August 2024 interview with Vogue while preparing her famous Key Lime Pie. “Food and family are completely intertwined for me because food was so significant during my upbringing, thanks to my mom’s exceptional cooking skills.”

Recently, Lively found herself in a contentious legal dispute with her It Ends With Us director and co-star, Justin Baldoni. She has accused Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, and attempting to tarnish her reputation in a lawsuit filed in December 2024. Baldoni has categorically denied these accusations and has countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds.

The couple publicly refuted the allegations prior to both filing to dismiss Baldoni’s petition earlier this month.

“This lawsuit is a blatant misuse of the legal system that has no place in federal court. California law explicitly prohibits suing victims who choose to speak out against sexual harassment or retaliation, whether in a lawsuit or the media,” Lively’s lawyers stated to Us Weekly. “This groundless and retaliatory lawsuit runs into three significant legal barriers, including litigation privileges and fair report privileges, the latter of which includes a mandatory fee-shifting provision that will require parties like … Wayfarer Studios, as well as others who initiated frivolous defamation claims against Ms. Lively, to pay damages.”

Insiders have clarified that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s dispute is “not a celebrity feud.” A source informed Us Weekly on Monday, February 3, that “Blake Lively alleges she was sexually harassed at work and faced retaliation. This is not a celebrity feud; it’s not drama; it’s….”

The statement continued, “In an ironic twist, the Wayfarer Parties’ attempt to sue Ms. Lively ‘into oblivion’ has only increased their own liability, and rightly so, given their actions.”

As it stands, a judge has yet to determine the requests made by Lively and Reynolds to dismiss the defamation lawsuit. Meanwhile, a trial is slated to begin in May 2026.
