Jodie Turner-Smith Reveals Exclusive Snapshot with Her Daughter
Jodie Turner-Smith recently shared a rare glimpse of her 5-year-old daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband Joshua Jackson.
In a series of photos uploaded on Instagram on Wednesday, May 14, Turner-Smith’s daughter joined her as she prepared for an event to celebrate Tory Burch’s new flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.
One photo captures Turner-Smith, 38, smiling brightly as her daughter planted a kiss on her cheek. The actress sported a navy blue outfit featuring a long-sleeved crop top and velvet pants, while her daughter wore a gray top and purple trousers.
In a subsequent video, Turner-Smith appeared to ask her daughter, “[Do I look] pretty?”
“Before I drove off, my daughter said ‘remember: BE FASHION’ 💅🏿❤️🔥🥹 did I hit the target, @toryburch? 😸 congratulations on your store opening! 💞,” Turner-Smith wrote in her post.
Turner-Smith and Jackson, 46, welcomed their daughter in April 2020. On May 12, it was reported that the former couple had reached a divorce settlement more than a year after her initial filing. In the agreement, both parties decided against spousal support. While Turner-Smith noted that their separation occurred on September 13, 2023, Jackson listed the date as September 30, 2023.
The Dawson’s Creek star and Turner-Smith also reached an agreement to share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
Turner-Smith made headlines in October 2023 when she filed for divorce after over four years of marriage. Reflecting on the split in February, she emphasized that she doesn’t view their relationship as a failure.
“Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working,” she stated in an interview with U.K.’s The Times. “And that’s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what’s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.”
Jackson also addressed the split, emphasizing his daughter as his top priority during an interview on Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s podcast “Dinner’s on Me” in April.
“It’s my job, along with my ex-wife, to do everything we can to nurture you, cultivate you, and give you all the tools you need in life,” he shared about raising their daughter. “But man, it is not lost on me that I am getting an opportunity to experience a father’s love in a way that I never experienced it.”
He continued: “My father’s response to difficulty was to run away. And instead of doing that, I’ve had the opportunity to give my daughter the opposite experience … If I ever did anything to estrange my daughter from myself, I would be in duress. I actually can’t conceive of it because I don’t even want to think of the pain that that would be.”
