3 Fantastic Netflix Series to Enjoy This Memorial Day
Some individuals have their Memorial Day weekend all mapped out: beach parties, a trip to visit relatives, or catching the latest Tom Cruise action flick. Here at Watch With Us, our only plans involve renewing our Netflix subscription, securing the doors, and settling in front of the TV.
Why spend a fortune going out when you can enjoy shows that transport you to exotic destinations for a modest monthly fee?
The three Netflix shows we recommend for this weekend are set in Manhattan, Copenhagen, and a Nantucket-like seaside resort town—locations that aren’t exactly budget-friendly. However, Younger, Secrets We Keep, and Sirens offer much more than stunning backdrops. Each features engaging characters and captivating storylines that make them perfect for holiday binge-watching.
‘Younger’ (2015-2021)
It’s fair to say we all wish to reclaim our youth or perhaps start fresh in some way. For Liza Miller (Sutton Foster), a fortysomething, her natural beauty allows her to pass as in her twenties at her new job at Empirical Press. It’s not mere vanity; she aims to navigate an ageist publishing industry that prefers youthful workers like book editor Kelsey Peters (Hilary Duff). It also helps her attract love interests, but how long can Liza maintain this ruse about her age to succeed in both career and romance?
With 87 episodes now streaming on Netflix, binge-watching them all this weekend may not be feasible (and if you do, you might need assistance), but you can definitely enjoy the first season, which stands out as the best. Foster, primarily a Broadway star, truly shines in this rare leading role showcasing her intelligence and charm. Fans of The Devil Wears Prada and The Bold Type will find much to enjoy, all while experiencing the allure of New York City without the outrageous rent.

‘Secrets We Keep’ (2025)
It’s easy to see why this Danish limited series quickly became a Netflix favorite in mid-May—it’s a fantastic mystery that draws you in and doesn’t let go for six thrilling episodes.
Marie Bach Hansen portrays Cecilie, a wealthy executive living with her young son in an affluent suburb. After the boy’s nanny, Ruby (Donna Levkovski), goes missing one evening, Cecilie delves into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. What she uncovers, however, is a cover-up involving her friends and neighbors, who appear indifferent to Ruby’s plight. Was Ruby murdered? If so, who is responsible?
While Secrets We Keep is yet another tale of “rich people doing bad things,” it is executed flawlessly, highlighted by a stellar performance from Hansen as the increasingly anxious and conflicted Cecilie. The conclusion is surprising, but to discover why, you’ll have to watch Secrets We Keep over the extended Memorial Day weekend.

‘Sirens’ (2025)
Estranged sisters reuniting over a dramatic weekend? Check. Gorgeous settings showcasing the extravagant wealth of the main character? Check. A top-tier cast featuring three actresses at their peak? Check. Sirens ticks all the boxes for those in search of a relaxing binge-watch that artfully blends comedy, drama, and a dash of mystery.
Devon (Meghann Fahy) is the black sheep of her family, eager to reconnect with her younger sister Simone (Milly Alcock). However, that proves challenging as Simone works as a personal assistant to Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore), the wife of a billionaire hosting a lavish party at her opulent estate over Labor Day weekend. Devon crashes the gathering in an attempt to persuade Simone to come home, but she soon realizes that crossing Michaela is not advisable.
It’s hard to resist a series that features stunning individuals in beautiful locales engaging in dubious activities. While Nicole Kidman usually stars in similar stories, Julianne Moore takes the spotlight here, relishing the role of a charismatic woman who thrives on admiration. Fahy and Alcock deliver strong performances as well, making the emotional stakes surprisingly impactful as the story unfolds.
