Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy Brings Baby Daughter Home from NICU
Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy celebrated a joyous homecoming for her daughter, Teddi.
“We’re finally home … all together,” Madison, 34, shared in an Instagram post on Sunday, July 13. “After two weeks of trips to the NICU, we brought our sweet Teddi girl home today, and I genuinely can’t express how I feel (but I’ll give it a shot).”
The reality star added, “Watching Hudson hold his baby sister, witnessing Brett embrace this role with so much affection, and simply standing in my doorway with my arms full and my heart even fuller … this is it. This is the life I’ve prayed for, dreamed of, and now finally get to experience. She’s home, we’re whole, and I’ve never felt more at peace.”
Madison and her husband Brett Randle welcomed their daughter at 34 weeks on June 29. She shared the news with fans through Amazon Live earlier this month. (Madison is also the mother of 12-year-old son Hudson, whom she shares with ex-husband Josh Hughes.)
“I was in labor for about 48 hours because my water broke at home,” she told Us Weekly exclusively before announcing the birth, describing the labor as a “crazy” experience. Madison was celebrating her mom’s birthday while Brett, a firefighter in California, was at work.
“I ran upstairs and said, ‘Mom, I don’t have anything packed.’ It was funny because both of us were in my closet trying to choose what to wear to the hospital,” Madison recalled. “We kind of prolonged the labor, and when Brett arrived, we waited another day for the C-section, and she was here five minutes later.”
Teddi, named after Madison’s father, weighed “only five pounds” and was initially placed in the NICU due to her early arrival.
“She’s breathing on her own and hasn’t needed any oxygen or anything. She’s quite a little trooper,” Madison shared. “[Doctors] were amazed at how independent she was, considering how early she was. I told them, ‘Oh, I wasn’t surprised at all.’”
Listening to Taylor Swift during the surgery probably helped a bit, too.
“That’s what she was born into. Don’t ask me what song it was, though, because honestly I have no clue,” Madison joked. “But yes, girl mode all the way.”
Even after just giving birth, Madison is already considering round three.
“I’m already planning for a third,” she told Us. “I’m thinking, ‘We have to do this again.’ This is so much fun.”
