Dax Shepard Posts Bare Photo of Kristen Bell Following Emmy Nomination
Dax Shepard is celebrating his wife Kristen Bell following her 2025 Emmy nomination—every bit of her, to be precise.
The host of the “Armchair Expert” podcast, 50, took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 15, to post a revealing photo of Bell, 44, shortly after she received her first Emmy nod for her performance in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This.
“Not everyone realizes what it takes behind the scenes to craft an Emmy-nominated performance like Kristen’s,” Shepard wrote alongside the image. “This might have been part of her preparation, but it felt fitting. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”
The snapshot features Bell, nominated for Best Comedy Actress, performing a handstand, wearing nothing but knee-high blue socks. Shepard cleverly covered her backside with a red modesty box to maintain some decency before tagging Bell in his playful post.
Bell, who plays Joanne alongside Adam Brody’s Noah in the romantic comedy series returning for its second season on October 23, showed her appreciation for Shepard’s post by liking it, as did several celebrities including Nina Dobrev and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“Hahahaha yesssss go girl! 🍑 suns out buns out for that Emmy!!!,” commented Dobrev, 36, while Paltrow simply expressed, “Oh my God, Dax.”
Shepard’s Parenthood costar Mae Whitman chimed in with, “Incredible form.”
During the March 24 episode of “Armchair Expert,” the actor shared that he and his family aren’t “hung up on nudity.” (Bell and Shepard have two daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 10.)
Shepard mentioned in that conversation, featuring guest Ike Barinholtz, that parents probably should reduce nudity around their children as they enter their teenage years. “My policy is that they’ll decide that, because in Europe, they don’t care.”
In February, Bell discussed the trust she shares with Shepard, which carries over into filming romantic scenes as part of their respective careers. Speaking to E! News, Bell expressed her confidence in Shepard’s loyalty: “Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family. I know he’s coming home. I know he loves our children. I know he strives to be a great husband and father.”
Addressing her chemistry with Brody, 45, Bell affirmed that they are strictly in the friend zone once the cameras stop rolling. “Dax knows there’s no real threat there, because Adam and I, if you were to see us in person, there is not chemistry,” she remarked. “We bicker all the time. We’re like an old married couple. It’s not hot and heavy on set at all.” (Brody is married to Leighton Meester, and they have two children together.)
Bell and Shepard met in 2017 at a mutual friend’s birthday party, and their connection sparked again when they crossed paths at a hockey game shortly thereafter. Bell shared with Today in a 2019 episode, “[We] started to flirt, left, and then a day after that, I get a text that says ‘Hi, my name is Dax. I violated your privacy and got your number from Shauna. How do you feel about that?’ And I was like, ‘Excuse me? You sound interesting.’ The only thing I remember is him talking a lot. I was like: ‘This guy can really chat!’ I fell in love with him way before he fell in love with me.”
