Camille Grammer Responds to Glenn Close’s Recreation of Dorit’s RHOBH Outburst
Camille Grammer is more receptive to Glenn Close referring to her as a “stupid c—” compared to Dorit Kemsley.
The eight-time Oscar nominee Close, 77, made an appearance on the Thursday, January 9, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where she offered her interpretation of Kemsley’s “profanity-laden tirade” aimed at Grammer in a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Awesome! Epic. Glenn for the win!” Grammer, 56, commented on the WWHL Instagram post showcasing Close’s theatrical “Clubhouse Playhouse” performance. “I had the pleasure of meeting Glenn years ago through my ex-husband. She was wonderful and very down-to-earth.”
Kemsley did not hold back, using the c-word repeatedly (as did Close) during a heated exchange with Grammer in the December 17 episode of RHOBH. The argument escalated after Kemsley clashed with fellow cast member Sutton Stracke. (Tensions between Kemsley and Stracke have persisted all season.)
Grammer expressed, “I’m sorry to interject,” but felt compelled to voice her thoughts regarding Kemsley.
“Years ago, I experienced a house fire. I lost my home, and I lost my assistant of many years, and I didn’t receive much compassion or empathy from some — especially from Dorit,” she explained. (Grammer’s Malibu home was destroyed in the Woolsey fire of 2018; additionally, her longtime assistant Scott MacLean passed away around the same period.)
Kemsley fired back: “Honey, you were a total c— to me.”
She then launched into a tirade that formed the basis of Close’s dramatic monologue on Thursday’s WWHL.
“You were a total c— to me. I called you a stupid c—. Not a f—ing c—. I said it as a joke. I called you a stupid c— as a joke. You know I did. It was a joke. You knew it, Camille,” Kemsley asserted. “And you just used it because you needed your moment. You’ve always needed a moment. Where have you been Camille? What are you doing here? Do you need a moment?”
In her confessional, Kemsley elaborated: “Once, I regretted calling Camille [spells out c—]. Now, I feel like Camille’s a stupid f—ing c—.”
For context, Kemsley initially referred to Grammer as a “stupid c—” while drinking during a dinner filmed for RHOBH season 8 back in 2017.
“Dorit, everyone’s allowed to act silly sometimes, but you really overdo it,” Grammer remarked during her confessional at the time.
