Candace Cameron Bure’s Thoughts on Becoming a Grandma at 50

Candace Cameron Bure is excited to step into her grandmother era.

“I’m over the moon!” said the Full House star, 50, regarding her daughter Natasha Bure’s pregnancy during a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, May 12. “I’ve been looking forward to this day. I always envisioned being a grandparent in my 40s — but celebrating it during my 50th year feels just right!”

Natasha, 27, and her husband Bradley Steven Perry announced on Thursday, May 7, that they’re expecting their first child.

“Our dream role 🐣,” the couple wrote in a joint post on Instagram.

Candace shared her excitement with, “CandyGram in full effect 🤗❤️.”

The Hallmark actress has been dreaming about her future grandkids calling her “Candy Gram” for a while now. She revealed the nickname exclusively to Us Weekly back in November 2024 while discussing her son Lev’s family plans with wife Elliot Dunham. (Candace shares Lev, 26, son Maksim, 24, and Natasha with husband Valeri Bure.)

“I can’t wait to have [grandkids], but I’m definitely not rushing them,” Cameron shared with Us, adding regarding her eldest son and his wife, “They’ve been married less than a year. Whatever their timing is, we support it.”

The mother of three noted, “I’m standing by my grandma name. Nobody else likes it except me, and I wanted to be Candy Gram, which I find adorable. My son doesn’t agree. He’s probably thinking, ‘You’re going with Grandma Candace instead.’ I said, ‘OK, maybe Grammy or something like that. I don’t know.’”

Candace expressed her desire to be a “fun grandma” when the time comes.
