Chiefs Safety Justin Reid Acquires 30 Super Bowl Tickets
Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid understands the steep costs associated with tickets for the 2025 Super Bowl.
“Ticket prices are skyrocketing, man, like, I got 30 of them,” Reid, 27, commented during a press conference on January 30. “We’re excited to compete and aim for glory, but we must win just so I can break even.”
The Chiefs are set to clash with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, a repeat of the 2023 championship. (Kansas City triumphed in their initial encounter in 2024, securing the franchise’s second consecutive Super Bowl title.)
The upcoming game will occur at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. According to Ticketmaster, the lowest ticket price starts at $4,000, while other options exceed $15,000.
All players and coaches participating in the Super Bowl are required to buy tickets to accommodate their guests, just like other fans. During the 2023 championship, now-retired Eagles center Jason Kelce spent $4,000 per ticket for his wife, Kylie Kelce, their two eldest daughters, and her OB-GYN to attend the game in Arizona. (Kylie, now 32, was expecting their third child then and is expecting again.)
The following year, Jason’s brother, Travis Kelce, paid $3 million for a private suite at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, accommodating girlfriend Taylor Swift, their two families, and respective friends to view the championship against the San Francisco 49ers.
Reid realizes that a Super Bowl ticket is in high demand and has been advising his newer teammates to arrange their logistics as early as possible.
“Make arrangements early to avoid scrambling next week when you’re inundated with interviews and your schedule is hectic,” he noted on Thursday. “Have your tickets sorted, and your family settled. Take care of those details this week, so you can concentrate on the game. We’re not there for a vacation; our goal is to win a football game, and that must be our priority.”
Reid’s family recently expanded as his girlfriend, Marissa Rand, welcomed their first child last month.
“I mean, [it was the] most thrilling event in the past few weeks for me,” he expressed on Thursday about his daughter Cielle’s arrival. “We’re taking turns catching some sleep, but it’s all the usual routine of feeding, sleeping, and changing diapers. We’re getting quite a bit of practice!”
It remains uncertain whether Rand and their newborn daughter will be attending the Super Bowl.
