Did Running Point Tease an Emily in Paris Crossover?

Netflix might have a potential crossover sensation with Running Point and Emily in Paris.

In the season 2 finale of Running Point, which debuted on Thursday, April 23, Jackie (Fabrizio Guido) received an opportunity to travel to Europe for work over the summer. However, he was torn because his girlfriend wanted him to accompany her to Boston for another job.

Encouraged by his family not to be “the girl who didn’t go to Paris,” a nod to Lauren Conrad from The Hills, Jackie ultimately chose to head to Europe. Some fans of Us couldn’t help but notice the connection to another Netflix show set in Paris.

“It’d be fascinating to see Jackie and Emily in Paris together,” Guido, 26, shared exclusively with Us Weekly. “The vibes are completely different.”

Guido mentioned that “it could happen” since Emily in Paris is returning to its roots following a detour to Rome. The series follows Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) as she relocates from the U.S. to France for a new job, eventually finding herself in a love triangle involving Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

After her relationship with Gabriel evolved, Emily started dating Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). By the end of season 4, Gabriel decided he was ready to fight for her, while Emily had moved to Rome to pursue a future with Marcello.

Season 5 took Emily and her friends back to Paris, with a brief stop in Venice during the finale. In the closing scene, viewers caught up with Gabriel, who was working on a boat set to dock in Greece, setting the stage for him to invite Emily to visit him.

“What we do know is that we’re heading to Greece and Monaco,” Bravo, 38, told Us earlier this month. “We have no script. I’m not sure what to expect. I just hope they find happiness together because it’s been a long journey for them.”

Creator Darren Star revealed that Gabriel’s postcard to Emily, mentioning Greece, has opened up possibilities for exciting developments, stating, “We’ll be in Mykonos and making a surprising visit to Monaco. Expect plenty of time in Paris this season.”

Running Point features Kate Hudson as Isla, a former party girl who has the opportunity to prove herself when she takes charge of her family’s pro basketball team. Guido’s character, Jackie, was a surprising addition in season 1 when the Gordon family discovered they had a secret brother.

“When we first meet Jackie in season 1, all he wants is to belong to the family. By season 2, Jackie is part of this family, although I don’t think he fully understands what that entails,” the actor explained. “He was focusing on the positives.”

He added, “However, Jackie experiences both sides of the coin this season. I believe every sibling goes through that duality, with a strong emphasis on family dynamics and loyalty.”
