Disney Star Skai Jackson Welcomes Her First Child
Skai Jackson has welcomed her first child into the world.
“Kasai 🧸🤎,” the 22-year-old Disney star announced on Instagram on Sunday, January 26, sharing a photo of her newborn’s tiny feet bundled in a green plaid onesie with matching socks. Skai has yet to disclose her baby’s gender and has kept the father’s identity private.
Jackson’s friends quickly took to the comments section to express their excitement. “Congratulations mommyyyyy🥹,” wrote singer Layton Greene, while YouTuber Denzel Dion added, “And he’s here!!! congrats mamas 🫂❤️.”
In November 2024, Skai revealed her pregnancy. “I’m excited to embrace this new chapter of motherhood and pursue new acting opportunities,” she stated in a release to People. “My heart is so full!”
Skai’s path to motherhood follows a challenging year in 2024. In August of the previous year, Us Weekly reported that the Jessie star was arrested for allegedly committing domestic battery after an altercation with her boyfriend at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. At that time, she informed authorities that she and her boyfriend were engaged and that she was expecting.
She was released from police custody within hours on a $20,000 bond, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office chose not to pursue charges. Both Jackson and her boyfriend denied any physical conflict.
“Skai is relieved that the investigation concluded it was simply a misunderstanding,” a representative for the actress told Us in September 2024 after charges were dropped. “We appreciate the DA’s quick determination to file no charges, and Skai looks forward to moving past this.”
Jackson rose to fame on the Disney Channel as Zuri Ross in Jessie, which aired from 2011 to 2015, and she reprised her role in the spin-off Bunk’d. She has also appeared in Marvel Rising, Sheroes, and even participated in season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. Recently, she has been enjoying a lower profile.
“When it comes to sharing personal details, I don’t disclose everything to my friends,” Jackson shared in a 2023 social media clip. “It’s important to keep some things private. Not everyone needs to know every minute detail of your life.”
She further elaborated, “I owe nothing to anyone, and there’s no need to reveal every aspect of my life. I prefer to keep things for myself; the way I portray myself in public is true to my real life, but that doesn’t mean I have to share everything.”
