Erin Cahill Shares Her Wedding Reflections Following Hallmark Film
Erin Cahill is opening up about what she would change about her wedding day while promoting Hallmark’s new Mom’s the Bride series.
“Oh my gosh, I loved my wedding so much. It was absolutely perfect,” Cahill, 46, shared exclusively with Us Weekly on Tuesday, May 5, while highlighting the upcoming Hallmark+ show that premieres on Thursday, May 7.
Upon reflection, Cahill did acknowledge that there was one element of her “perfect” day she wishes she could alter.
“I wish we had hired a videographer,” she admitted to Us. “These families are going to have so much documentation.”
She pointed out that each episode of Mom’s the Bride — a docuseries featuring daughters planning their mothers’ weddings — involved three to five cameras, sparking a bit of wedding envy in Cahill.
“They have tons of footage and their own videographers,” she explained. “So that’s one thing I’m like, ‘Oh, I should have done that.’”
When she married Paul Freeman in 2016, the couple had some friends use their phones to capture their special moments.

“My wedding was a small affair with 20 friends and 15 family members,” she reminisced. “So I have some iPhone footage that’s surprisingly grainy.”
In addition to wanting better video documentation, Cahill mentioned she wished they had extended the celebration.
“I really wish we had arranged for our guests to stay longer,” she reflected on her second wedding wish.
Cahill’s reflections on her wedding come after she transitioned from acting to become a wedding planner and cheerleader for Hallmark+’s Mom’s the Bride series.
Throughout the show, Cahill offers her insights and acts as a sounding board for daughters organizing their mothers’ dream weddings.
Each episode showcases a different mother-daughter duo, managing a unique wedding to execute, from a Christmas-themed extravaganza to a country-style ceremony. The common thread? Love … and perhaps a few tears.

“I didn’t keep it together. I cried throughout every wedding,” Cahill confessed to Us about filming the show, which commenced in October 2025 and concluded just last month. “At one point, I had to fully gather myself because I thought, ‘This is so beautiful.’ It [shows] what’s possible in relationships. So no, I definitely didn’t hold it together.”
Cahill expressed that, despite the joyous stories featured, there are challenges involved in orchestrating a perfect event within a tight timeframe. The Journey to You actress shared that for the premiere episode, filming took place the weekend before Christmas 2025, which she considered “the perfect way to start Christmas,” but it was quite labor-intensive.
“Logistically, each wedding posed unique challenges,” she teased. “It was crucial for our crew to ensure that we enhanced and contributed positively to each wedding so everything went smoothly.”

While Hallmark does provide assistance for each wedding, Cahill told Us that “it’s a lengthy process” that involves “real weddings” with “genuine mothers and daughters.”
She added that unlike reality shows, Mom’s the Bride is structured as an “unscripted docuseries that showcases heightened love.”
Mom’s the Bride premieres on Hallmark+ on Thursday, May 7, with new episodes airing weekly.
