Hilaria Baldwin Seeks to Join Special Forces Alongside Alec’s Brother
Hilaria Baldwin hasn’t dismissed the idea of participating in Special Forces after her time on Nation’s Dumbest — though she might prefer teaming up with brother-in-law Stephen Baldwin instead of husband Alec Baldwin.
“Would [Alec and I] even manage to survive each other? That’s the real question,” quipped Hilaria, 42, during an exclusive chat with Us, reflecting on the possibility of joining the Fox competition series. “I had no idea couples were involved in that.”
The yoga instructor recounted a past “brush with Special Forces,” mentioning, “It wasn’t a time I could commit. Because [prior to] this past year, I never left my kids. The only time I left them was to go to the hospital to give birth to another child. Seriously.”
Initially opting for opportunities that kept her near home, Hilaria — who has seven children with Alec — has started to branch out.
“Going away without my kids was a significant step. I managed to do it a couple of times this year for various projects,” she shared. “So I can see it becoming a possibility.”
Hilaria has also heard positive feedback about Special Forces — which takes celebrities into challenging environments globally for military-style training exercises — from her Nation’s Dumbest co-stars. “JoJo Siwa has participated,” she mentioned. “So who knows? Maybe they’ll reach out again at another point in my life. JoJo says her life improved after the experience, and it’s incredibly intense.”
If Hilaria gets the call, she isn’t certain if she’d take on the challenge with 68-year-old Alec by her side, sharing with Us, “Let’s leave Alec at home. I’ll team up with Stephen. Hey Stephen, are you up for another season?”
Alec’s brother previously participated in season 3 of Special Forces, which has also included couples like Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker.
Meanwhile, Hilaria has been thrilled with the projects she has taken on while still being present for her children. Nation’s Dumbest, for instance, allowed her to explore something new outside of her home life.
The show premiered earlier this month and is described as “a proven format across multiple international territories, tapping into celebrities’ inner school spirit as they return to summer school, tackling a mix of brain-teasing challenges, fast-paced physical activities, and long-forgotten classroom knowledge.”
Every week, “the ‘smartest’ celebrity graduates, narrowing the competition until a high-stakes final exam determines who will walk away with the unwanted title of The Nation’s Dumbest.”
During her conversation with Us, Hilaria acknowledged that joining the cast came with its own set of challenges.
“I was a student who had to put in a lot of effort [in school]. I have ADHD and dyslexia, which made me feel ashamed at times,” she reflected. “I wasn’t very social and had to work much harder than most. Participating in a show like this was somewhat intimidating for me, to be honest, because I’ve grown so much. But I definitely had moments where I thought, ‘Oh no, all the past trauma is resurfacing.’”
