Hilarie Burton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Children Dazzle at Cannes Red Carpet

Hilarie Burton Morgan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s recent family appearance on the red carpet has us doing a double take—because their children have grown before our very eyes.

On April 25, at the Canneseries International Festival, Burton Morgan, 42, and Morgan, 59, made a striking entrance alongside their son Gus, 14, and daughter George, 5, in support of his show The Walking Dead.

Morgan was sharp in a black suit that complimented Gus’ outfit perfectly. Meanwhile, Burton Morgan dazzled in a strapless blue gown, while little George looked adorable in a floral sundress, sporting a sparkly golden purse. The family of four beamed together on the red carpet, with Gus standing tall above his parents.

Previously that day, Gus and George joined their parents at a photocall for The Walking Dead, where they all opted for a more casual look.

The One Tree Hill alum and Morgan have been partners since 2009, tying the knot in October 2019 after welcoming their two children.

Reflecting on their relationship in her 2020 memoir, The Rural Diaries, Burton Morgan shared, “Jeffrey and I weren’t made for dating. He was the man I was going to grow old and boring with. Instead of late nights out at clubs or wining and dining, we’d cozy up and watch an episode of Lonesome Dove. When we decided to have a kid, we named him Gus after Robert DuVall’s character. As the credits rolled, Jeffrey asked, ‘Do you want to do this? Do you want to try for a family?’ We’d known each other less than a month.”

Burton Morgan and the Grey’s Anatomy star faced fertility challenges after Gus was born, which affected their relationship, as the mother of two has shared.

“I did experience postpartum with my son. I didn’t realize it because I was lost in the fog, but I wasn’t easy to be around, and I struggled with severe depression after my first miscarriage,” Burton Morgan revealed to Us Weekly in May 2020. “Looking back, I see how self-destructive I was. … Until you face that first really tough experience together, you don’t know how your partner will react or what they will need.”

She continued, “I needed to slam doors, cry fiercely, and howl. He has been incredibly supportive. He generously allowed me to share our experiences, as it’s not just my story but ours. I am so grateful to him for letting me navigate my feelings in this manner. … The gift he has given me is the freedom to share our story and intrude on his personal space. He’s a wonderful man.”
