In the City’s Kyle Accuses Amanda of ‘Flat-Out Lying’ About West
Kyle Cooke was frank during the In the City finale while discussing Amanda Batula and her relationship with West Wilson.
“It really frustrates me,” Kyle, 43, expressed to Amanda, 34, in the episode aired on Tuesday, July 14. “You outright lied to me about West.”
Kyle confronted Amanda on April 9, shortly after she and Summer House star West, 31, publicly acknowledged their friendship-turned-romance on March 31. (Both Amanda and West had previously denied any romantic involvement before confirming their relationship.)
“You chose a guy who goes harder than I do,” Kyle claimed, referring to Amanda’s accusations against him for partying during their four-year marriage, which ultimately ended in January.
Amanda seemed taken aback, denying his claims.
“I didn’t choose someone else over you,” she asserted, adding, “I was frightened.”
They both reflected on their breakup announcement in January, with Amanda stating she was “grateful” that they managed to handle it together, albeit “in the most messed up way.”
Kyle admitted, “I wasn’t innocent. I know I made things worse. I can’t tell if I was self-sabotaging, seeking help, or just spiraling. I’m not proud of my behavior.”
Amanda noted that “many factors contributed to the end of our relationship.”
Kyle indicated he felt it was “the right decision” and was relieved they didn’t “give each other any more false hopes” before ending things.
Amanda, who faced criticism over her relationship with West—partly due to her past friendship with Ciara Miller, West’s ex—joked that the drama has at least benefited Kyle’s business, Loverboy.
“I think they despise me,” she remarked about the fans, to which Kyle responded, “I don’t believe it’s all hate.”
Amanda lamented, “I feel like I can’t even step outside” due to the fallout from the scandal.
Amanda disclosed, “Walking over here was daunting. I’m literally terrified of going outside because I’m afraid someone will confront me.”
She mentioned her desire for “a sense of normalcy” after her relationship became public.
Amanda firmly stated, “There was absolutely no affair” and she did not cheat on Kyle with West.
“I’m not minimizing anything I did,” Amanda expressed. “I recognize how complicated my friendship became, but I also want to move forward.”
Amanda noted, “If I keep hiding, I’ll end up in a dark place,” prompting Kyle to revert to his protective side.

“Make sure to surround yourself with those who’ve been there for you all along,” he advised her, stressing the importance of leaning on those who know her best.
Amanda agreed, recognizing that Kyle is indeed one of those supportive figures in her life for the past decade.
“Would you like to grab dinner?” she proposed.
Kyle quipped, “It’ll probably cause quite the stir online, but I’m up for it.”
“Perhaps the four of us—me, you, West, and Salley [Carson]—can all go out for dinner,” Amanda suggested playfully, referencing the Southern Charm star Kyle was rumored to be dating after their breakup. “What a fun double date.”
Kyle reacted with a grimace, saying, “Oh, my God. On that note…” before indicating he needed to return to work.
Though Kyle and Amanda seemed to have a cordial interaction during the April catch-up in a preview for the two-part In the City reunion, Amanda accused Kyle of infidelity during their marriage. (He had previously admitted to cheating on Amanda before their engagement.)
“How many people have you been with, and how soon after?” Amanda queried Kyle in the trailer released on Monday, July 13, continuing to assert that he “had sex with someone while we were married.”
The first reunion of In the City is set to air on Bravo Tuesday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET, with an uncensored version available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
