Jamie Foxx Undergoes Stitches After Glass Accident Injures His Face
Jamie Foxx is healing after sustaining an injury at his birthday celebration on Friday, December 13.
“While attending his birthday dinner, Jamie Foxx was struck in the mouth by a glass thrown from another table,” Foxx’s representative informed Us Weekly in a statement on Saturday, December 14. “He required stitches and is in recovery. Authorities have been notified, and the incident is now being handled by law enforcement.”
Foxx marked his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow in Los Angeles. The Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a call several hours later about a possible assault with a deadly weapon. According to a BHPD press release, it was ultimately determined that the alleged assault was “unfounded.”
“The event involved a physical confrontation between the involved parties,” the press release stated. “The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and generated a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made. The Beverly Hills Police Department remains dedicated to ensuring public safety and will continue to look into this matter.”
Foxx has not offered any additional comments regarding the situation.
The actor has recently bounced back from a health scare last year. In April 2023, Foxx was hospitalized following a medical complication. In a Netflix special released earlier this month, he disclosed that he suffered a brain bleed leading to a stroke.
“I want you to see me laughing, enjoying myself at a party, telling jokes, or acting in a movie or television show. I didn’t want you to witness me with medical tubes and wondering if I was going to pull through,” he expressed in his What Happened Was stand-up special. “I cannot express how wonderful it felt to have my family rally around me and keep everything under wraps; they protected me, and that’s what I hope everyone can experience in challenging times.”
Foxx also mentioned that “we still don’t have a clear understanding of what happened to me,” recalling a severe headache before he lost consciousness.
“I don’t recall 20 days. They told me that I was taken to the first doctor, who gave me a cortisone shot and sent me home,” Foxx added. “What the f— is that? I don’t know if one can leave Yelp reviews for doctors, but that’s a half-star, at best.”
