Jennifer Aniston Offers a Bold Opinion on Her Iconic Hair
Jennifer Aniston has not always appreciated her famous bangs.
The 57-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday, May 14, to encourage her fans to carefully consider the decision to get bangs. She posted images of herself over the years portraying various characters with bangs. In her first photo, she sported brown hair with full bangs cut to her eyebrows while playing Julia in Horrible Bosses, released in 2011.
As fans swiped to the next image, they found Aniston as Jennifer Grogan in Marley & Me. In 2008, she wore side bangs subtly blended into her blonde hair with soft angles.
Next, she showcased a picture from her role in Rock Star in 2001, when she dazzled with soft, wispy bangs that brushed her eyes, styled with the rest of her hair pulled back in a half-updo.
Finally, Aniston shared a photo of herself as Rachel Green on Friends, flaunting blunt side bangs during season 10, which aired from 2003 to 2004.
She wrapped up her Instagram post with a humorous meme of two turtles chatting, captioned, “It took a hundred years, but I finally grew out my bangs.”
“Think before you bang…👀,” Aniston captioned her post. Despite her own reservations about her bangs, both friends and fans pointed out that she consistently mastered the look whenever she chose to cut her hair.
“You wore them best ♥️,” praised Sandra Bullock, while a fan commented, “Girl, I don’t think you realize the impact of these posts….They are going to inspire people to get bangs because you look fabulous every time.” A second follower added, “You have rocked the bangs every time though 🤍.”
Aniston has also discussed her mixed feelings about another famous hairstyle from the 1990s: The Rachel. Developed by Chris McMillan, she told InStyle in 2018 that maintaining the layered look was quite demanding.
“When I first got that haircut, I thought, ‘Wow, this is fantastic,’” she recounted. “But then, I was left with this frizzy mess, as I had no clue how to replicate what he did.”
