Kaitlyn Bristowe opened up about her recent eyelid surgery and the challenges she faced during her recovery.
The former Bachelorette, 39, discussed her decision to undergo an upper blepharoplasty — a cosmetic procedure aimed at removing excess skin around the eyes — on Instagram on Wednesday, January 22.
The reality TV star then shared a current image of her eyes, indicating she had the right amount of Botox but still dealt with hooded lids. “I came to realize it’s not the worst, but it’s something that has bothered me for a long time,” she stated.
“I wanted to reduce the amount of Botox, so I thought getting a blepharoplasty would help open up my eye without needing more Botox,” Bristowe added. “This was my first time going ‘under the knife,’ where I had some lid skin removed.”
Bristowe later shared post-surgery photos, showing bruises and stitches on her lids but encountered a setback when one of her dogs accidentally scratched her stitches.
“My dog scratched one of my eyes, so I had to get it restitched,” she shared in the video. “That eye is healing a bit slower than the other one.”
Aside from the minor setback, Bristowe expressed that she felt “zero pain” during the surgery and that the “scarring is healing nicely.”
At this point, Bristowe’s bruising has faded, and she no longer has hooded eyes. Voila!
