Karen Pittman Gets Choked Up While Hinting at The Morning Show’s Conclusion

Karen Pittman expresses a heartfelt desire for The Morning Show viewers as they experience the final season.

“I hope they feel the joy we experienced,” Pittman, 51, shared exclusively with Us during the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House at UCLA Health’s annual brunch on Sunday, September 27. “The joy we felt as artists while crafting the story — from the carpenters to the lighting, photography, cameramen, writers, directors, hair and makeup — we all aimed to tell the best story by pouring our hearts into our work.”

While fighting back tears, the actress added, “I hope viewers can sense that when they watch the show — our love for working together and the care we invested in our storytelling.”

In July, Apple TV+ confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of the Emmy Award-winning comedy-drama series will be its last.

“Having women at the helm of our show — writing and leading it — significantly impacts how we address women’s issues,” Pittman told Us at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. “Throughout the last five seasons, what stands out to me is the way women are forming connections in television and news media, navigating the highs and lows. It’s more than just about men; it’s about how we support one another and create space for each other. That’s one of the most vital legacies The Morning Show will leave as we conclude our series.”

Sunday’s event celebrated the cast of The Morning Show, featuring Mark Duplass, June Diane Raphael, Holland Taylor, Shari Belafonte, Victoria Tate, Rachel Marsh, and Hannah Leder, who all gathered to amplify the voices of sexual assault and rape survivors while highlighting the impactful work of the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House.

“We are still engaging in discussions about womanhood, sexual violence, how to safeguard women, and how to pursue justice,” Pittman reflected on the significant themes in The Morning Show. “I feel truly honored to be here with the Rape Treatment Center and the Stuart House. It’s a valuable opportunity to highlight the importance of continuing these conversations, and I am grateful to have been involved in a show that has integrated this dialogue into our culture.”

While the plot lines for season 5 remain under wraps, several cast members have expressed pride in their contributions to the series.

“The writers — I am continually amazed by what they’ve achieved with this cast,” Taylor, 83, told Us. “The themes they have explored are truly remarkable. It’s a show of great courage. I’m proud to have been part of it.”

As for Belafonte, 72, she is certain that both new and old fans will appreciate the final season.

“[My wish is] that they recognize how exceptional the show has been throughout all five seasons,” the actress mentioned to Us. “The fifth season will not disappoint, and I hope they all demand a revival featuring [my character] Julia.”
