Kate Walsh Returns to the U.S. After Living in Australia

Kate Walsh has announced that she is no longer residing in Australia and has returned to the United States.

“Living by the beach for an extended period, almost like a perpetual vacation, was likely very beneficial for my health in certain ways,” Walsh, 58, humorously shared in an exclusive chat with Us at the Centrum Inside and Outside Makeover Salon Experience on Thursday, August 13, in New York City. “I was right by the ocean and swimming daily.”

The actress has since moved again, stating, “I’m actually back in New York now. I adore the city, and I find that it nourishes my soul. It fuels my creativity and cultural interests.”

She went on to say: “I love walking. In L.A., you’re always driving, spending most of your time in your car. While outdoor hiking is wonderful, I truly enjoy being back in the city where I can walk around.”

Walsh initially relocated from Los Angeles to Australia during the travel restrictions in 2020, which led to her meeting her now-fiancé, Andrew Nixon. She has since returned to the U.S. to work on various projects, including new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and more.

Now back in the Big Apple, Walsh is concentrating on finding a balance between her personal and professional life.

“You often hear about individuals facing health issues—whether it’s cancer or a brain tumor—who, if they are fortunate enough to overcome it, say, ‘OK, I’m going to change everything.’ And that was my case,” she shared with Us while reflecting on past health challenges. “My perspective on work and life balance has completely transformed. I used to tell people, ‘If you want to spend time together, you need to join me at work.’ That was my former mindset—living solely to work.”

Walsh has enjoyed her shift in focus.

“That was fine for a time. But even before all this, I felt, ‘Okay, this is reaching its limits, and I want to dedicate more time to family and friends,’” she emphasized. “I love traveling and discovering ways to contribute. I have the chance to engage with great organizations like Oceana and Planned Parenthood. I enjoy doing rewarding work and spending time with my love, [Andrew Nixon]. Love is plentiful in my life.”

Although she is making significant changes, Walsh has continued to use her platform to advocate for healthy aging through a partnership with Centrum.

“I didn’t seriously explore supplements until my mid-30s, which is around the time Centrum Age Defy became appealing. I appreciate Centrum Silver, as it supports brain health,” she pointed out. “It’s beneficial for brain function, heart health, and vision. As you age and enter your 50s, these health aspects become increasingly important compared to when you are younger. Centrum vitamins are backed by clinical research and have a long-standing reputation, which is quite reassuring.”
