Love Is Blind’s Lauren Explores Unseen Connection with Mason in the Pods

The love rectangle involving Mason, Madison, Meg, and Alex in Love Is Blind could easily be considered a love pentagon.

“It’s amusing to look back because I was in constant communication with Mason right up until the very end,” Lauren O’Brien shared in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.

Viewers witnessed several episodes featuring Mason Horacek juggling relationships with both Madison Errichiello and Meg Fink in the pods. When Mason appeared to fully commit to Madison, she revealed her closer connection to Alex Brown. Notably, Lauren’s relationship with Mason was absent from the cameras as they focused on her eventual fiancé David Bettenburg.

“After realizing he had this whole situation with Meg and Madison, I was like, ‘Wait, what? We’ve been talking every day,’” Lauren elaborated. “It’s funny to rewatch that and not see any of it play out. But I think it shows how wrapped up I was in my own experiences. I was engaged in conversations with the guys and spending time in the lounge, but my focus was primarily on those romantic connections.”

Despite Lauren and Dave getting engaged — though they didn’t walk down the aisle — both Mason and Meg, as well as Madison and Alex, parted ways before the pods concluded. The latest episodes of Love Is Blind have unveiled what transpired once the cameras ceased following both couples.

Madison and Alex, for their part, had a brief connection off-screen.

“When I emerged from the pods, the very first message I received was from Alex, and he seemed to have figured out my appearance. … It was through Instagram and he was like, ‘Oh my f—ing God.’ I responded, ‘Yeah. Regretting it now, aren’t you?’” she told People in a recent interview. “Just kidding. But he mentioned wanting to meet up at the airport. I thought, ‘Did we not just break up? That was quite emotional for me. Maybe we should take some time apart.’”

When they eventually met in real life, Madison felt disillusioned as Alex focused heavily on her looks.

“Throughout the time, he kept saying, ‘Oh, you’re so beautiful, stay here with me in L.A..’ I was like, ‘We just broke up,’” she recounted. “I put so much effort into those pods, and if it didn’t work then, it’s not going to work now. But I could sense that he was determined to make things happen.”

Mason and Meg, on the other hand, experienced more success after leaving the show.

“Once I left, I thought, ‘I’m not going to talk to that guy.’ But the second I got my phone, I was like, ‘How’s Mason?’ And I messaged him,” Meg confided to her co-stars during a group hangout. Mason’s response was, “I’m doing a lot worse knowing you’re so gorgeous,” prompting the pair to consider giving their relationship a chance.

Fans are eagerly awaiting more information during the Love Is Blind reunion on Friday, March 9, and recent pictures shared by castmate Brittany Dodson have shown Meg and Mason snuggling, suggesting they might still be going strong.
