When posed the question of whether motherhood or acting posed a greater challenge, the Devil Wears Prada star honestly admitted that being a mother has been her toughest role.
“Mothering. Definitely. Acting — it’s about recognition, income, and satisfaction,” she told The Washington Post in 1998. “Mothering — you don’t even hear a ‘thank you.’ There’s no way to compare it to acting. I don’t truly consider acting to be work, as it’s secretly so enjoyable.”
