Mom Arrested for Allegedly Forcing 8-Year-Old Daughter to Eat From Trash
A mother in Florida was taken into custody after allegedly physically assaulting her 8-year-old daughter multiple times and forcing her to consume expired food found in the trash.
Naseline Timouche was arrested on Saturday, June 6, facing charges of aggravated child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and child neglect without causing significant bodily harm, as detailed in the arrest report reviewed by CBS News.
Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check request at her residence.
Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with the girl and observed multiple scars and various marks on her body.
The girl informed deputies that she had been left alone at home for long periods on multiple occasions, including overnight stays. She also reported that her mother struck her repeatedly with a cord, frying pan, and spatula.
Timouche, 27, was further accused of not adequately feeding her daughter, as the household food was allegedly reserved for “guests.” Instead, the mother permitted her child to eat only expired items or food retrieved from the trash.
The girl shared that she would sometimes be awakened by Timouche hitting her without any clear reason, stating that her mother struck her in the face with a charging cable seemingly for no reason at all.
Deputies noted in their report that the marks and scars on the girl were consistent with her allegations of abuse by her mother.
Authorities also interviewed a witness who claimed to have met the victim around two months prior through a neighbor. This witness recounted allowing the child to stay in her home and supplying her with food after Timouche purportedly left her alone on several occasions.
Moreover, the witness stated that she provided the girl with food and clean clothes on Friday, June 5, after finding her wandering unsupervised.
In response to the allegations, Timouche was interviewed by detectives and reportedly made unspecified admissions before being booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
It remains unclear whether Timouche has entered a plea or secured legal representation following her arrest. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not yet provided a statement to Us Weekly regarding the case.
The investigation into the allegations against Timouche is ongoing.
