Paris Hilton Welcomes Dog Rescued from Los Angeles Wildfires
Paris Hilton is stepping up to support rescued animals following the wildfires in Los Angeles.
“Hello everyone, I’m at Pasadena Humane Society today with this adorable cat,” Hilton, 43, mentioned in a video shared via Instagram on Monday, January 13, while pointing to the cat’s cage. “He’s been here for four days without a collar or microchip, so we don’t know who he belongs to.”
Hilton shared that she was showcasing the cat to help fans recognize its face “to facilitate his return home.”
“I’m also going to foster another dog that was given up by a family who lost their home in the fire,” Hilton explained. “We’re going to check for other dogs that are still looking for their owners.”
Hilton emphasized her desire for her followers to know that Pasadena Humane Society “is an amazing charity” and urged them to contribute.
“I wanted to visit today to utilize my platform to raise awareness and highlight wonderful organizations that are doing crucial work because these animals are our babies,” she stated, gazing at the cat. “We’re going to locate your owner.”
The video concluded with a close-up of the cat, which Hilton mentioned was found during the Altadena fires. She specified that the cat’s ID number is A519218.
“I volunteered yesterday at the @PasadenaHumane Society, spending quality time with the animals that were rescued after the wildfires 🥹,” Hilton captioned her post. “This lovely cat was discovered without a collar in #Altadena and has been at the shelter for four days 💔. Please help by sharing with anyone from the Altadena area so we can reunite this sweetheart with their owner! His animal ID is A519218.”
Hilton continued, “My nonprofit, @1111Media Impact, has contributed to support the shelter’s work, and we’re continuing to raise funds to assist families and pets displaced by the fires 💰. Every contribution helps provide emergency relief, housing, and supplies. If you’re in a position to donate or volunteer, the Pasadena Humane Society is a wonderful cause to support! ❤️🐶🐱 You can either donate directly to them or through my emergency fund, link in bio 🙏🏼.”
She also shared a series of photos from her volunteer experience with Baby2Baby and Pasadena Humane Society. One photo captures Hilton joyfully holding her new foster dog named Zuzu.
“I’m incredibly thankful to welcome Zuzu, our new foster 🐶🐕💞, whose family had to surrender her after losing their home in the wildfires,” Hilton added in the comments of her Instagram post. “Fostering is a vital way to help when you can—if you’re able, please think about giving a temporary or permanent home to animals in need 🏡🐾.”
Before her time at the organizations, Hilton disclosed on January 8 that she had lost her home in the wildfires. The following day, she shared a video of her return to the remnants of her Malibu residence.
“Here I stand in what was once our home; the heartbreak is truly beyond words.💔🥺,” Hilton shared on Instagram on January 9. “Upon seeing the news, I was overwhelmed with shock—I could hardly comprehend it. But now, standing here, it feels as though my heart has shattered into countless pieces.😢💔”
Hilton reflected on the home as a place where she and husband Carter Reum have “made beautiful memories as a family.” (The couple, married in 2021, has a son, Phoenix, who is 23 months old, and a daughter, London, who is 12 months old.)
“My family, my loved ones, and my pets are safe.🥹 That’s what matters most, and I’m holding on to that gratitude with everything I possess.”
