Pink Had ‘Tremendous Fear’ About Motherhood Before Becoming a Mom
Pink never anticipated the profound impact of motherhood on her life.
“Honestly, I was filled with fear at the thought of being a mother,” Pink, 46, shared with E! News in an interview released on Wednesday, June 3. “I expressed in Willow’s birthday card that she has shown me what love truly means. And I cherish every moment of being her mom.”
Willow, who Pink shares with her husband Carey Hart, celebrated her 15th birthday on Tuesday, June 2. (Pink and Hart, 50, are also proud parents to their son, Jameson, 9.)
“It brings me to tears,” Pink confessed about her firstborn. “I never imagined I could manage a teenager — she’s the most delightful person I’ve ever loved.”
Pink and Hart even made a recent move to New York City to support Willow’s dreams in theater.
“Now she’s at an age where she wants to pursue her own interests, which I find rather dull,” Pink joked with E! News. “She’s fully immersed. She’s participating in charity cabarets, attending workshops, and recently performed in Carrie, the musical, which is quite intense. She’s excelling. It’s wonderful to witness. I told her to work hard, be kind, show up, and be a great teammate.”
According to Pink, her daughter is thrilled about living in New York.
“She’s absolutely overjoyed,” the rock star said during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday. “She’s obsessed with Broadway, incredibly earnest, hardworking, and undeniably talented.”
Pink also expressed her pride in her “amazing” daughter’s acceptance to a performing arts high school, adding that Willow even supported her decision to host the 2026 Tony Awards.
“I want to respect her choices. She has pursued a path distinct from mine, and I honor that,” Pink shared on Late Night. “And it turns out that path earned her a seat at the Tonys.”
Pink will host the awards show on Sunday, June 7, celebrating the best Broadway performances of the year, joking to Seth Meyers that she’s feeling both terrified and excited for her big moment.
“I’m sure I’ll stumble, but that’ll be fine,” she laughed, noting that she feels both scared and thrilled. “I tell my audience, ‘If I fall, please laugh so we can continue.’ I’m genuinely looking forward to it. It’s going to be outrageous. My one condition was that I must poke fun at myself the moment I step on stage, regardless of how I do it, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.”
