Sydney Sweeney Stuns in Bridal Gown on the Carpet Amid Engagement News
Sydney Sweeney might have recently ended her engagement, but she didn’t let that stop her from showcasing what might have been. On Tuesday, April 1, just days after the breakup was reported, she made her first red carpet appearance in an actual wedding gown.
According to an exclusive report by Us Weekly on March 31, insiders confirmed that the Euphoria star and her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, called off their wedding plans that were set for this spring, and Us has since verified the complete end of their relationship.
During her red carpet appearance at CinemaCon, where she promoted her upcoming movie, The Housemaid, the 27-year-old Sweeney opted out of sporting her 4-carat round-cut brilliant diamond engagement ring, valued at approximately $150,000. Instead, she dazzled in a stunning silver metallic gown by Wiederhoeft.
Described as “the high priest of corsets,” Wiederhoeft’s bridal and demi-couture collection includes Sweeney’s attire, which was taken directly from the Spring 2025 runway. This exquisite piece was crafted from shimmering silk satin, featuring metal-boned construction and lace-up corsetry that accentuated her enviable figure. Complementing the dress was a matching ankle-length skirt adorned with a low-rise belt and a daring back slit.
The corsets from Wiederhoeft are not for the faint-hearted; even designer Jackson Wiederhoeft, a former Thom Browne employee and CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, shared with Fashionista that comfort isn’t a priority. Nevertheless, the intricate artistry and architectural finesse make them a notable presence in the bridal scene, celebrated for their avant-garde designs that reflect modern nostalgia.

Sweeney knows how to turn heads, as exemplified by her recent beach photos posted on March 27, in which she showcased a vintage Dior logomania look that screams Y2K nostalgia, complete with a coordinating bucket hat.
This was no ordinary Dior ensemble; it was a pinup-style dress created by John Galliano, featuring an off-the-shoulder bustier design previously worn by Paris Hilton back in 2003. (Now that’s a showstopper). Though Sweeney added no caption, her outfit conveyed a clear message: she’s officially single and ready to mingle.

Last month, speculation grew about possible issues in her relationship as she deleted an Instagram photo of herself sharing a kiss with Davino, 41, taken over the holidays as they welcomed in 2025.
Sources revealed to Us Weekly on March 26 that many of the conflicts leading to their breakup, after a seven-year relationship, stemmed from Sweeney’s demanding filming schedule that required her to dedicate “full attention” to her various film and TV projects.
This reminds us of Sweeney’s previous comments in a February 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan where she stated, “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way, and it’s easiest. I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh no, I’m shining too bright, and I need to step back.’”
Given her latest striking appearance on the red carpet, Sweeney appears to be more radiant than ever, rocking head-turning outfits designed for confident wearers who have nothing to conceal and everything to proclaim.
