Yellowstone Star Discusses Possible Cameo in Season 2 for Marshals
Marshals is bringing back some familiar faces from Yellowstone, and a former cast member recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of returning to the Taylor Sheridan series.
“I really enjoyed my time on Yellowstone. Playing Steve Hendon was a fantastic experience,” James Jordan told Us exclusively while promoting season 3 of another Sheridan project, Lioness. “I had a great time portraying that character.”
Jordan emphasized Steve’s role alongside Kayce (Luke Grimes), stating, “He became Kayce’s right-hand man. Luke Grimes and I are actually good friends; we talk on the phone every couple of weeks.”
He added, “Interestingly, I’ve spoken with Luke about it. I told him, ‘I’d love to make a comeback on Marshals.’ He responded, ‘You never know, maybe.’ So, I’m definitely open to the prospect. Wherever the boss leads me, I’m willing to follow.”
In addition to that, Jordan is set to reprise his role as Dale in the upcoming third season of Landman.
“I’ve only received one [script]. Taylor [Sheridan] is hard at work writing season 3 right now,” Jordan teased. “All I can say is it’s going to be a thrilling journey.”
After reviewing the script, Jordan hinted to Us that there will be no time skip.
“We’ll pick up right where we left off, and I’m just as eager as everyone else to see where this story leads. We’re gearing up to commence filming in about three weeks, and we’re excited to deliver an outstanding new season for our fans,” he explained. “
Jordan also speculated on a potential return to Marshals.
“With the speed of today’s editing, we might even air before the year concludes. I genuinely hope for that,” he noted. “The holiday window that has opened up the last two seasons, from Thanksgiving to year-end, seems ideal for Landman.”
He added, “We aim to get back to work as soon as possible to continue storytelling for our audience because we genuinely enjoy it, and we appreciate the support.”
Currently, Jordan is concentrating on the third season of Lioness. Created by Sheridan, this popular Paramount+ spy thriller centers on a CIA team leader who recruits female operatives, known as Lionesses, to conduct undercover missions in the war on terror.
The first two seasons followed Joe (Zoe Saldaña) as she enlisted Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) and Josie (Genesis Rodriguez) for undercover work. A season 2 mission placed the team in grave danger, nearly resulting in a group sacrifice.

“I cherish the opportunity to work on Taylor’s shows and breathe life into these characters. He sets a strong foundation with his writing, leaving much for the audience to imagine,” Jordan remarked. “The emotional connections that viewers form with these characters encourage them to engage more deeply. But I can’t choose a favorite character.”
He elaborated, “What’s remarkable about Taylor is his exploration of frontiers—both in a literal and metaphorical sense. It’s always exciting to delve into the unknown, as it can be daunting but also rewarding. I adore playing Two Cups and Dale; they’re vastly different characters. However, as long as we place our trust in Taylor’s storytelling and creative vision, we’re confident it will be a fantastic ride.”
